If I Die Young..............

When i told my friends the other day that by the virtue of it, I had pledged every part of me ( all my organs and what not ) in the event that if I die young to those who need them, my eyes, my skin, my heart and every part that is usable, i guess except my sexual organ for i don't think anyone will need it.(hahaha).

Then suddenly, one guy popped up this question," Have you ever sought the advice from your family, I mean will they allow you to GO without some organs attached, wouldn't it be a imperfect final departure?"

I then jokingly said to them," Actually by then i think i would look nicer without all those stuff"

How many of you guys have actually pledged to donate organs? and don't you think this would be nicest thing to do when you LEAVE, others could live......

P/S : Take this heart give it to charity or take this heart give it to Salvation Army

  6. I was humming the Band Perry tune when I saw your update... :-)

I like this phrase "..when you LEAVE, others could live.." boleh buat motto! :-)

I know it's my body, and I would like to pledge it too, but I;m not sure how my loved ones would feel having my corpse cut open to harvest the organs. Hmm...

  8. Eugene, that is very kind and thoughtful of you!
But to me, I would want everything to be in one piece when I am in 'another world'. Sorry I'm that selfish :P

  9. Ya it's better to donate out. We have thinking of that quite sometime. Hubby still a bit skeptical of this, I guess we should get more info to know this program in detail b4 sign up.

  11. Saw a catchy sign in Komtar which says something like "1 life can save 4" and immediately sign up think that was in the 80's. In the first place the body does not even belong to Bananaz and second it can save 4 lives why not.

  13. Hi Eugene, this is a very meaningful blog entry!
I love RECYCLING, and so I told my hubby to donate/recycle every part of me to those in needs when I'm dead....and then burn the unused parts to ashes & take it to the sea (actually not for the fish lah... i just want to belong to nature)

  14. I guess not many people think of dying especially when they're young. You seem to be an exception :)

  19. I've made the pledge to donate some of my organs after I die when first year in Uni. Went back home, told my mum, and she was so angry about it. She said the same thing as that guy said to you.

I never cancelled the pledge, and I think she had forgotten about it. Haha. I guess I'm still registered as a donor.
