When i told my friends the other day that by the virtue of it, I had pledged every part of me ( all my organs and what not ) in the event that if I die young to those who need them, my eyes, my skin, my heart and every part that is usable, i guess except my sexual organ for i don't think anyone will need it.(hahaha).
Then suddenly, one guy popped up this question," Have you ever sought the advice from your family, I mean will they allow you to GO without some organs attached, wouldn't it be a imperfect final departure?"
I then jokingly said to them," Actually by then i think i would look nicer without all those stuff"
How many of you guys have actually pledged to donate organs? and don't you think this would be nicest thing to do when you LEAVE, others could live......
P/S : Take this heart give it to charity or take this heart give it to Salvation Army
I nearly thought this post is about The Band Perry song lol. Anyways, internal organs maybe, external I don't think so hehe.
ReplyDeleteSigh...I think all my body parts are not in very good condition anymore. Sobssss!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf die of unexpected death, they will take...if die of illness, normally they dont take... except the eyes, i guess.. gosh... not that i geli.. when i thought of them taking the organs out from my body, i felt.. er... kind of empty feel inside? but then die liow, anything also no feel, right?
ReplyDeleteThen you should register yourself as organ donor. :)I did it last year.
ReplyDeleteMaslight : external also can leh
ReplyDeleteSTP : the older the better
Claire : Just do it
Ginger : Registered like 15 years ago
I'm still in dilemma.....
ReplyDeleteI was humming the Band Perry tune when I saw your update... :-)
ReplyDeleteI like this phrase "..when you LEAVE, others could live.." boleh buat motto! :-)
I know it's my body, and I would like to pledge it too, but I;m not sure how my loved ones would feel having my corpse cut open to harvest the organs. Hmm...
I'm an organ donor since I hit 21 years old. LOL.
ReplyDeleteEugene, that is very kind and thoughtful of you!
ReplyDeleteBut to me, I would want everything to be in one piece when I am in 'another world'. Sorry I'm that selfish :P
Ya it's better to donate out. We have thinking of that quite sometime. Hubby still a bit skeptical of this, I guess we should get more info to know this program in detail b4 sign up.
ReplyDeleteMe not yet register. Kept delaying
ReplyDeleteSaw a catchy sign in Komtar which says something like "1 life can save 4" and immediately sign up think that was in the 80's. In the first place the body does not even belong to Bananaz and second it can save 4 lives why not.
ReplyDeleteI would by all means leave my organs to anyone who needs them, that is if my organs still can use la ... :D
ReplyDeletevery thoughtful of you...
ReplyDeleteHi Eugene, this is a very meaningful blog entry!
ReplyDeleteI love RECYCLING, and so I told my hubby to donate/recycle every part of me to those in needs when I'm dead....and then burn the unused parts to ashes & take it to the sea (actually not for the fish lah... i just want to belong to nature)
I guess not many people think of dying especially when they're young. You seem to be an exception :)
ReplyDeleteThe Twerp and I
when my time comes and if my organs are still good, I don't mind giving it away for others to live.
ReplyDeletegood cause..but I haven't done it yet.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know bro .... But u did right! Very courageous of you!
ReplyDeletevery noble of you bro. Got me thinking..
ReplyDeleteI've made the pledge to donate some of my organs after I die when first year in Uni. Went back home, told my mum, and she was so angry about it. She said the same thing as that guy said to you.
ReplyDeleteI never cancelled the pledge, and I think she had forgotten about it. Haha. I guess I'm still registered as a donor.
