Honesty............

Last Friday after receiving the good news of my lovely wife's, we thought of going out to celebrate with the family after work, but instead my friends read my blog about the good news and true to my promise, i said ok to buy them some drinks.

I therefore had to put up some excuses to my two boys that i had to go out with friends for some meeting with my friends (children not allowed kind of stuff), eventually my boys found out the lie, and Marvell called me up and said this while i was on the way to meeting up my friends," papa, i am very disappointed with you"

I felt really bad, immediately i made a turn back home and i said i was sorry for lying to them and explained to them my situation of so called keeping my promise, and then suddenly Marvell said this," Papa, you better go now, your friends are waiting and i love you and drive carefully"

Sometimes i really feel like a lousy father, i was not like" family first no matter what" and i am still learning and thank God for my sons' understanding, love and concern........

P/S : Staying true

  5. They will know...when you lie, no matter how good you are. You've been living together for so many years...they can read your mind, know what you want to say even before you say it. Be honest with them...if you must. They will understand.

  6. Your boy is very understanding and thoughtful and in this case, I think there's no need to lie to him as I believe even if you tell him honestly, he can understand and accept it.
