Met a friend while i was having lunch yesterday, he was there with his 9 years old boy, every time when i see those wonderful boys and girls, there is one question that i would always ask them.
I would ask them," are you a happy boy or girl ?" so the same question i asked my friend's 9 years old boy,his candid reply was something that i could not comprehend, he said he hated school holidays, then when i probed further he said his school holidays were spent mostly on tuition classes.
I could seriously understand the boy's unhappiness why should school holidays the same like school days, right? Then i asked my friend, why did he have to send his son for tuition classes during school holidays.
He said he wanted to prepare his son for the next year's school syllabus already, he didn't want his son to be left behind in class next year, he said he was afraid that his son could not cope well next year.
After my friend finished with his reasons,i turned to the boy and asked if he was happy going to school, he said he was not but i asked him if he was not happy in school, how come he was always the tops in the class, he just kept quiet.(he silence indicates some wrong some where, doesn't it)
My friend used to tell me how good he son fared in school.
Sometimes i wish parents could go back in time to be kids once again and feel for those little ones... sincerely i want my boys to do well if not exceedingly well, at the same time most important of all, i want them to be crazily happy.
P/S : We forget that we were once kiddos too.............................
