Sorry Son....................

The other day, My Jovial asked me this question when he read about my blog in regards to my buying of shares for investment, he asked," Papa, are these shares for me or will you leave behind some money for me in the future?"

He looked dejected when i told him this," Son, no i am not leaving any money for you and your brother,(cos i don't have enough myself muahhahahaha)but i will try my best to leave you some for education,provided"..................

Then i continued," Provided you really really know what you want out of education because i don't want you to just follow the peck." he looked at me like blank, then i said,"Son, no one is going to live your life for you and you should determine your own future and ask the blessing form God as well."

I told him at the end of our conversation this,"Jo,despite all this, papa will surely leave behind this for you, lots of love and to be a better man"

I sincerely pray to the good Lord that my two sons will live out their dreams in whatever faculty, vocation of their dreams.

Note : Sometimes how many of us can claim that we are happy doing what we are doing and to survive comfortably?

P/S : "Papa, i want to be an actor and a famous photographer" said my Jovial,i said,"By all means live your dreams"

  1. Jovial: 'What no money for me?! I better find a new/richer dad"..kidding.

Kids nowadays expect parents to provide almost everything for them.

My niece and nephew never take bus in their life. Me.. I have to tale bus during the 1st year of my working life.

sigh...what to do, we love our child to much.

  3. Likewise, I prefer my children to be independent and not expecting money to fall from sky (I'm not rich leh, working hard to raise the family isn't easy, let alone to leave a fortune for them after I passed on ).

  5. I guess those born in 90 onward will have this thinking. This is the different between youngest thinking and our generation. They are more brave to chase for your dream compared to us.

  7. Good answer. Pull, not push...lead and hope they will follow...and a wholesome education (which does not equate a university degree) is the best inheritance anychild can hope to inherit.
