Do try this at home........

One of the many things why we love to blog i reckon is that we love to share the things that we just love sharing, so here am i sharing again about my Jovial, his growing up, his addiction of on line computer games and his quitting of it.............

I used to tell Jovial not to play computer games so much, it was just no good, many times it often resulted in not so happy ending, he would drive me up the wall, he would just forget what he was supposed to be doing when he was immersed in it.

As a parent something we gave it a little too much, from a small note book computer, i changed to a bigger monitor for him for reason that i did not want him to spoil his eye sight with long hours staring at the monitor, i was cautioning him about how his eye sight will be deteriorating and that would be bad, all to no avail.

Jovial is 14 now, then i thought must as well i work along that line of what would it hurt the most as far as a 14 years old boy is concerned, that was something to do with Vanity, you heard it right something about being handsome or not.

Something about how Jovial would not look as handsome as he was supposed to be if he were to be wearing those thick thick glasses so me and my lovely wife began on the crusade (hahahahahah) of driving that massage across to him.

Voila, all the efforts came to fruition, one day we were so surprised he really stopped playing the on line games, except browsing facebook, me and my lovely wife thought it was going to be temporarily but to our amazement he really stuck with it , no online games.

So one day we asked him, why he stopped, he said he was afraid that he might not look as handsome as he was supposed to be if he kept on playing on line games...now he focuses more on his studies already, he said to us he wanted to be handsome and a good student...."fatt tat lol"

You might accuse me of being vain and instilling a not so good value in my son, i would rather being vain than letting him over addicted into on line games, straining our relationship and having him to become sedentary................

P/S : My ways may not be right but i saw changes........amen

  5. Nowadays, children wear specs at a very early age. Somehow we try to warn and advice him/her not to see the tv too near or with the pc for too long.
p/s: Jovial is very good looking wif specs ^^

  6. Never bother to be a little vain as long as the mission is accomplished. I'm not proud to say that I sometimes use ugly method in order to get my message across to my children....

  7. I will use the same way too on my girls. Wear spec is very troublesome, I have been through that myself.

I agree with on one thing, no matter what we do whtr it is the correct way of doing it or not..and no matter how people judge it, what more important is the way we see it..and yes, i've to congrat u and wifey - success to let Jovial stop playing on9 games and concentrate more on his study *backslap* ^____^
