20 years old... 80 thousands

I am gonna make this quick and to out parents out there, there is a lesson to be learned from this a true story i am about to share with you guys...

He is only 20 years old, studying in local college, mom and dad are working for themselves in travel industry, business is good and that makes them very busy.

One day, the boy did not go home for three days, on the second day some thugs went up to boy's parents office, demanding the boy's parents settle a debt amounting to RM80k, to the parent's horror, the boy incurred the debt resulting from betting in online casino.

Please tell me how on earth that boy had the gut to go that far into debt?

This happened to my old classmate's son...............i wonder if that boy would learn his lesson after the bashing from my friend or is he still thinking "don't worry my father will bail me out again"

P/S : I am still learning.... God show me

  2. It is obvious why things have turned out that way. It's not always about money, though it is important - children need love and attention as they grow, the parents by their side to support them and catch them each them they fall. When it has come to this, there's nothing much left that can be done - nasi sudah menjadi bubur...

  9. Real bad putting the parents in hot soup. Blaming and condemning the kid would not retrieve the damage for whatever reasons be it good or bad most people would say the latter that he is been greedy. tQ for posting to make all of us aware that kids are out of control if they are not taught the values in life & the friends they mix with. This is not an overnight affair to lose 80k could have been over some period of time. Guess what will happen if football gambling is allowed?

  11. 80 grand... sometimes I think kids that age don't know the value of money, don't bother how much they borrow and just acumulate and accumulate, and maybe it's 2/3 interest. whatever the case, parents must guide the child since young. that's what they say, build a strong foundation.

stp has a point. parents were too busy building their wealth no time for the poor kid. so now they pay. literally.

  19. Parents could sometimes be at fault here, even we are busy, we should not neglect our children.

  20. Life nowadays are tough....parents need to work long hours to earn $$$ and sacrifice quality time with their kids. Sometimes... parents can't help it especially if they have a dateline to meet.
