She called me childish.......

I really don't know if she really meant it when she passed a remark the other day while i was casually chatting with her,,(her is my neighbor) , the remark that she was delivering to me was this, " you are kind of childish,ho‘ 小玩童or 孩子气

She said that she always saw me playing with my children during this long school holiday in the evening in the park next to my house, me acted like a naughty little boy, shouting, hi five-ing and chasing ball, rolling on the lawn, getting dirty, a pale comparison with men my age, she remarked.

She asked me if i not feel "pai sei" shy acting like a little boy and i was in a way astonished by her question than i asked why did she ask that. She said she'd not seen any of the neighbors behaving so childishly like i did whist playing with the children.

My reply to her was plain simple, i said to her amongst the things i can give to my boys, this will be the most important...." a naughty yet memorable childhood the boys share with their father which comes with a lot of laughter, tonnes of joy, friendly bickering and non stop of Hi Five-ing.

I said to her to me this is something money can't buy and i jokingly telling her that i didn't want to grow old regretting that i had not spent enough time with my children and i did not want to deprive my children of a happy childhood for childhood only happens once

孩子的美好童年是快乐的回忆,而不是最贵的玩具。。。。。。。。。

  1. Awesome I love this post! Maturity is NOT determine by age itself. Trust me, you are not being childish but you are cherishing every moment that you have with your sons. I am very proud of you :D exactly the kind of dad that I wanted to be. =)

  3. There is a saying somewhere that remarked - "There is a child in every man". I think it will be in the interest of the children to have a papa who is like their peers rather than being a strict parent.Acting childish also will keep you young..heeeeeeee

  15. Play as much as you can with your boys. Another 5 years don't think they still want to play with you, wouldn't they?

  16. To me, an adult is being childish if he is emotionally like a child eg the "u don't friend me-i don't friend you, u do this to me-i must do that to you" behaviour.

But playing LIKE a child with a child is an absolutely wonderful thing to do!! I think your kids are real lucky :)
