You've lost that loving feeling.....

I was singing this song in retribution to a rejection from Jovial, albeit jokingly," You've lost that loving feeling, O O that loving feeling, you've lost that loving feeling now it's gone, gone, oh oh oh oh !!!! So the story goes..............................

Was strolling with my lovely wife and my two ever charming boys in a shopping mall last Sunday, then i heard something like this from my 13 years old Jovial saying this in Mandarin directed at his mom, " Don't do that lah mommy, don't lah"

My wife wanted to kiss him on the forehead, he refused, wanted to hold his hands and walk he declined. Looking at this scene, i too was trying to do like my wife did, end result? same treatment from Jovial, then to break the ice, i sang................

" You've lost that loving feeling, O O that loving feeling " there and then and this added to his chagrin and i said," Son, you used to say Papa could kiss you and hold your hand always, right? " then quickly he responded, " at home can lah, public places cannot lah"

See, I've always told my friends who have small children to enjoy them when they are small, in no time they will outgrow us but don't fret i am pretty sure my boys love me dearly, it is just the part of growing up. "If you love somebody, set them free" .......... George Harrison

P/S : I understand, I respect and I learn.

  6. Guess I will miss the "kissing" moments when the time comes. Must remind myself all the time to hug and kiss my boy as often while I still can.

  8. Your boy has grown up to another stage. Last time, my elder girl will follow her papa to go to the Gent, when I wasn't there with them. Now, she refused to go to the Gent anymore, she wants to go the Ladies even she needs to go in alone. Kids grow fast.

  10. Thanks for the reminder, Eugene. I'm going to kiss/hug/hold my son all the way until he reaches puberty... then he would drifts away slowly and grow up to be a fine young man I want him to be :)

But I do wish my daughter would religiously kiss me, as she does now, until she starts her own family :)

    Man, kids outgrow us fast!

  13. My boy, now 15 going on to 16 - everyday when I drop him to school I will always give him a kiss on the head or cheek at the same time speak a blessing over him. Something like this, "I bless you in the name of Jesus...you shall be the head and not the tail!" Still doing it. He expected it and is not ashamed of it or of his father's love... he can't be bothered what his friends thinks 'cos he knows I love him. It will be strange to him (and his friends) if I don't do it. Hah!
