Decay ?

This to me is absolutely absurd and thought provoking, when i read this news in a local Chinese daily, i was shocked to say the least and this happened in my home state Penang.

A 9 years old girl was inpregnated by a 14 years old boy who happened to be her neigbour according to the report.

Forbidden fruit is always so enticing, isn't it?

This reminds me of one incident when i bumped into my friend's son and his girlfriend (both 13 and 15 years old respectively at that time) Casually and openly i cautioned the young love birds to be careful as far as sex was concerned and about safe sex and all, i got shocked when the girlfriend told me this in Chinese,"uncle, 不用担心,阿坤不是我的 first boyfriend.(dont worry, uncle Eugene, Ah Khoon is not my first boyfriend,we know what to do"

Few months after that, my friend's wife called me up and asking me for help, when she found out that her son had inpregnated his 13 years old girlfriend and by the time the news broke out, she was already 4 month into her pregnancy....................................

As far as i am concerned, i always believe a healthy, sound family background and the teaching of religion is the essence to guide our youngs from unnecessary troubles.

I dont think i can say this to my 13 years Jovial," if you ask me the silly questions about sex, i'll whack you ...blah blah blah and blah"

P/S : Dont let our children's confusion becomes their destruction

  2. I read about the news late last night. I was shocked that the 9 yo wasn't the youngest mummy, there was one 6 yo mummy in the history. Heart and head ache at the same time.

  4. yes, sometimes we parents are the one that cause the curiosity... let them explore la... I am all ready to 'teach' my girl the 'bad' with a 'good' way... 宁愿自己教,好过给人教。

  5. When this thing happened, we shouldn't throw negative judgement to the pregnant girl. We all know what they do was wrong and its something that shouldn't be happening that soon but do not persecute but instead we need to give them our support, let them know that we still care for them. I have a friend who got pregnant at 16, so scared of the parents found out, so she and the boyfriend go for an abortion. Do you even know whats the psychological effect from an abortion? I'm not saying we should allow 9 years old to get pregnant but when its already happened, we should be there to help and support not to make things even worse. Play safe people, wear the helmet :D

  6. Ya...young people these days - I really wonder what guidance their parents give them, if at all! I see the girls in my tuition class wearing shorts that are so very short...and the boys at least, wear longer ones or jeans. Sometimes, I look at them and think - if they get raped, they should not blame anybody else. No decency, no self-respect...no brain!!!

  10. When my hubby told me her young cousin (15yo) is pregnant, and the father to the baby is unknown, I was shocked and kinda speechless. (actually this cousin's sister is also pregnant before married)
now, a 9 yo is pregnant, this really made me speechless again =_=
sex education is important, now, should we bring forward the topic to an earlier age?!

  13. Our younger generation is getting much curious about sex.

As parents, we can only guide them of the do and dont's and tell them about sex at an early age.

What and how can these parents decide now?

  14. To ask teenagers in this era to abstain from sex is almost impossible. What we can do to eradicate unwanted pregnancy is by promoting safe sex and the sense of moral and responsibility.
