I am confused over 3 things......................

1)My son's friend told me this incident when he tried to ask his teacher a school work question, and the teacher reply was this," after school, please ask your tuition teacher, i still got a few more chapters to cover, ok?"

Ok, I am not generalizing that all teachers are like this, but for those teachers who are like this, my question is, " why are you like this?"

2)I sat down with my wonderful son Jovial last night, guiding, motiviating and teaching him on his school works, suddenly he shared this "true life story" with me,," papa, i have 2 friends in my class, this morning both were busy distributing their tuition centre brochures, coaxing many of my classmates to join their tuition centres respectively." i asked him why were they doing this, i was so surprised to hear his answer," Papa, my friends told me if they managed to introduce their friends to their tuition classes, they will get commission of RM 10 for one successful registration. or they will have their tuition fees deducted from the corresponding months."

Ok again, if the so called tuition centres are good, why do they resort to such a gimmick?

I was so happy when my Jovial told me that he didn't want to join any tuition classes and he wanted to prove to his friends that he can fare even better than his peers who attend tuition classes.

3) Picking my wonderful lil one Marvell back from his school yesterday, on the way in the car he asked me a question that really blew my mind, so he asked, " Papa, people call me Marvell, and my full name is Marvell Ung Wew, then papa can you please tell me what is Jesus full name ?" and i was dumb struck................... (My current book on my coffee table, Jeffrey Archer's A Prisoner of Birth, damn it is so good, it's like panacea for my stress. A must read if you like suspense)

  1. wah... tuition tuition tuition... i hate tuition. hehehe

if pay attention during school and come back to home do revision, i think tuition is not nessacery.

but... it helps to reduce the burden of kids gua... they manage to give all the tips of the exams because they are the teacher of the school.

  11. Hi Eugene...

    1. Teachers are pressed for time, and they've to finish the syllabus or else students will not be able to answer the exam questions. Maybe they're frustrated too because of overburden.

    2. Running a tuition centre is big business nowadays, and like all other businesses, there will be marketing gimmicks. One day, your son may go home with a membership card application form :)

    3. Jesus full name? How about Jesus Christ? But seriously, nobody knows. :)

  13. your children's names are gorgeous! haha...

as for tuition.. lol.. never send children to a centre. it is just a waste of time. if it's a small group in a real teacher's home with a real teacher, then i condone it. otherwise, the main agenda is money and they will not stop at any trick.

  16. I guess tuition will substitute school very soon. Students and parents trust tuition teachers more than school teachers.
I guess sometimes some question is hard to answer.

  18. Jesus have no full name, as far as I'm concern... just like the royal family in England. The have no surname.

Jesus, however, is often referred to as Jesus of Nazareth.

  19. *grumbles* Not all tuition are corrupted. I teach 'tuition' too, but I dun teach academical subject. I teach Creative Writing to children to cultivate their imagination and make their brain goes sharper... and I don't make my classes in big scales. Only 3 kids per class so that i can interact with them well.

=.= It is unfair to say that all tuition teachers are just whoring for money. Some of them do it for the sake of passion and for the satisfaction that they manage to teach the kids to become a better person.

  23. gone were the days when teacher stayed back to help students cope with school work free of charge plus giving us extra classes so that we pass our SPM with flying colour, or with colour if it unable to fly.

miss you ms. Foo & Ms. Hew of CHS. Best teacher!!
