To this I am saying I am livid over this incident..................................
I was at a coffee shop, saw one group of students strolling in boisterously ( seriously I am okay with that, I was young and rebel once) a few of them were smoking away ( I guess they were in form 4 or 5)
As I was chatting away with my friends, suddenly I saw one student from that group went"ahem ahem" then he was spitting on the floor, I looked at him and said this to him nicely in Hokkien," Hello boy, next time please do not spit on the floor, it is very unhygienic for you to do that"
He glanced back at me,with a hostile sight as if I was his worst enemy that he was ready to whack me up and then he said this to me in Hokkien,"Uncle, this is a coffee shop, I can spit however I like and none of your business"
I felt like leaving my chair, walk to him and give him a good slap but then again, I was afraid,(not really afraid) that this whole group of boys would gang up and give this "uncle" like me a fight, then I just looked away and felt uneasy about this.
I am not here to change the world but at least I hope parents should teach our children the meaning of "Respect" Ditto.
P/S : Where have we gone wrong?
There is no difference of the 'young' generations as it goes by... despite most parents nowadays are educated, we still have some who live in those 'age' and bring that to their children.. we just can do our best in educating ours... sigh..
ReplyDeleteI feel sad as well,is it the parents or is it the society at large?
DeleteThey learnt it from their parents - the attitude, the mentality. Go, go and slap...and you'll have the parents on your back the next instant and a law suit in your hands! Real sad, the society today...
ReplyDeleteThat's why i refrained and restrained myself from getting boiled up
DeleteOmg, really feel like slapping that fella, no bloody manners!
ReplyDeleteGone are the days where we would respect the uncles and the aunties,,sad, ain't it?
DeleteNowadays these youngsters are very daring.. they dont know the meaning of "die" one...
ReplyDeleteu always can see those problematic boys and girls..
ReplyDeleteI hardly seen any of it in my aera.....
last time i also one of the bad apple .. LOL...
You see the school that Jovial attends is not that good,so to speak and I am glad that I sent him there,(to see the bad ones as well, hahahhahah)
Deletethere is a difference between bad apple and bad attitude and i detest the latter
That boy will get into trouble with that attitude of his. One of these days his luck will run out and meet a not so nice uncle like you. sure kena wack kau kau. What's wrong with our youth ? children need to learn to respect their elders whether family or strangers.
DeleteThis boy is really BTC (Bo Tak Chek)
ReplyDeleteI think more on the side of being disrespectful lah,,,,
DeleteYou did your part, shame on them. Thank God you didn't go further else I'm afraid they might bash you up... I can't stand people spitting on floor or road and being rude to older folks.
ReplyDeleteYa I did my part and you know what, some of those other boys who appear to be bad, surprisingly they have got good manners, when they see me,they will call me "uncle here, uncle there" but some are really out
Deletesuch a sad thing happening in our era now. The boys will get his punishment in time to come.
ReplyDeleteWhat to do leh? I hope my boys will turn out with good characters,,i see the importance of that then academic excellence,
DeleteBERANI KERANA BENAR.MAKAN SENDIRI CARIK.HIDUP SENTISE COOL.AWEK JE YANG TAKDE.
ReplyDeletethere's nothing wrong with you, you hv spoken and it's just they did not want to listen..maybe they feel ' ashamed' of somebody telling them not to spit, really why must one act like ganagster? at times it's not the parents to be blamed, i see some parents are very good and nice people but their kids are just so different...i would also think there's a lot of influence from the friends or people you mix.
ReplyDeleteLena, no worries, we shall be great parents
Deletesome youngsters nowadays are really ill-mannered..
ReplyDeleteWhat to do Wenn, I can only hope and pray that my boys will grow up fine and on the term, we should not look down on those"naughty boys and girls too"
DeleteWhat's wrong with them? The youngsters nowadays are rude and immoral.
ReplyDeleteI dare not comment so much as I have 2 young ones to nurture. Trying my best to educate them; and self-respect and respecting other (especially elderly) is more important than academic. In hope they would grow up being good adults.
No use to confront these bunch of ppl and waste our energy on them.
Yvonne, I believe we will bring them up well,no worries about it ya,,,
DeleteI will scare too if they really gang up. Uncivilized behavior.
ReplyDeleteYou know what,I think let us start with our own children, teaching them and the rest,we will leave to their own parents,
DeleteI think this guy deserve a slap.
ReplyDeleteAnd one day this guy would cleaning the street on penang or . . .
Cleaning someone else spit lol
