My lovely wife called me this morning, asking me if I wanted to join some friends for some Friday's night chill out stuff, gave it a thought I said no, I told her because I promised myself and her that we would go for our 5.30 am run tomorrow morning.
One part of me was saying like," Eugene, come one, let's go chill and hang loose, have a few beers, moreover Friday is your fav day of the week." sadly or proudly, the other part of me was hollering loud and clear," Eugene, keep to your word, you said you would do a long run on every Saturday,so don't give in"
Life's like that, kan? It is so hard to keep to our goals, our commitments, our promises and may be even our wedding vows. The challenge is not about how sexy that lady is that could get you to break the wedding vow, not how hard it is to keep to your goals or promises, rather the challenge lies within ourselves, the opposing parts within yourself,in the end no matter which part triumphs, which part vanquishes, you are answerable to your own self.
So, I stick to my Saturday 5.30 am run, I will stick to my wedding vows, continue to love my lovely wife, I will do what I can to be a better papa and I can still chill tomorrow night, kekekekekekekekek.
P/S : Have a great weekend and God bless
I support you!
ReplyDeletedo you set it to run every Saturday morning bro? if you do, then your Friday night will be gone right? how how?
ReplyDeleteLife is short, just do what ever you think you will be happy, with a condition no one is hurt at the end. That's it.
ReplyDeleteit's important to be dicipline and follow the rules we set for our selves. You might not know people will take notice and if we break our own rules , will they take us seriously next time?
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, life's always like that. Sometimes, just follow instinct lo..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend~
that we call life is. we want do things like this but ending up doing thing that not in our plan.
ReplyDeletebut anyway enjoy ur weekend
Life is about compromise. And also being disciplined.
ReplyDeleteDo whatever feels right for you, Eugene. :)
Maybe enjoy the Friday night and start your LSD later, and don't run so early.^^
Why you like that no gip face to lovely wife declined her offer? Why can't chill out and same time run at 5.30am. Sorry Bananaz hot stuff no chilling before so may not know the side effects of chill out.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking perhaps your wifey wanted to join in? And if that's the case, wouldn't you have killed the one time she wanted to have some Fri night chill-out fun?
ReplyDeleteDon't mind me, just thinking out loud here..
Have a wonderful w/e, no matter..
Sometimes there's something we need to sacrifice (i.e chilling out) in order to gain another thing (i.e healthy run).
ReplyDeleteIt's all about making wise decision and I know you'll deal with it great :)
Have a great weekend, Eugene!! Mine is so full fulllll .. no time to chill out also..
ReplyDeleteYes, I known that you will set your priorities right.
ReplyDeleteYes, I known that you will set your priorities right.
ReplyDeleteHmm...I think it would be exciting if you break the routine every now and then. Life would be mundane if we just stick to the plans that we made... no surprise, no adventure whatsoever. :(
ReplyDeletePs: I tend to agree with Bananaz on this. You may loose a morning run if you went to chill out with your wife that night, but then again, have you ever thought that if you go slow on the beer abit, you still can go and run the next morning? Whoever say u have to drink gallons of beer to chill out? Go easy on that stuff, Eugene. It's no good for you.
ReplyDeletelet's chill bro! hehe
