You and I, we have a pact.....

This is the conversation that took place last night, between me and Jovial..........

Me," Jovial, papa is kind of confused now and I miss something from you ?"
Jovial," What's that papa?"

Me, " You see, when you are at home, you have no problem of letting me kissing you and hugging you but let say,if we go shopping,me and mommy can't even hold your hands, what happened?"
Jovial," Papa, at home different ma, in public, my friends can accidentally see me, I am 14 years old already ma"

Me," Jovial, I really miss those feeling lah, holding your hands when we go shopping and jalan jalan " then I paused for a while, again i continued," Jovial, can i present a proposition to you/"
Jovial,"

At this juncture, I put my hand on his shoulder and walked him a little here and there in the living hall and then I said," Jovial, can I do like this the next time, can we have the deal?

Jovial," ok lah ,papa"

I guess,I have just got to respect him lah............thank God,he never loses that loving feeling.....

(Don't worry son, I know that you love me)
P/S : Enjoy them

  1. Your son is growing up, Eugene. He is no longer the cuddlable boy. We have to 'let go' and treat him like a man :) Something which is quite hard for a parent to do, right? Our children are forever our babies...

  2. Big boy now, haha Papa need to learn to let go of the hand... but never let the feeling between each other fade.

When they are young, we are their teacher, then we become their friend, in the end we became their mentor.

  3. Why the three pakat to have the same hairstyle? When kids are younger better to seize the chance to hold them all because of peer pressure of friends teasing them. See no reason to tease someone if they are close to their parents but who knows what the young people are thinking. Bananaz never had a chance to hug or hold my dad's hand when we go out only mom's. That's why I make sure to kiss my daughter's forehead every night when we say goodnite and to hug her very often.

  4. Please dont get me wrong my dad loves me silently just the old Chinaman type dont know how to express or be open about it. My personal best record my dad has never use a cane on me hehe. Your sons are lucky to have an open minded dad which I think we all should be that way. Bananaz & daughter are just like friends and even asked her to call me by my full name but she prefer to address me daddy. Its her choice and like you said "respect" her decision.

  6. Yalor...people grow up. The next time he holds your hand would be when you're too old to walk and he must hold you to make sure you don't fall down.

  11. That's the phase every parent fears, but I didn't stop my parents from holding me when I was a teenager. Maybe because of their age, you see my mum gave first to me when she was 40. So I always held them, as if to keep them from falling but they are perfectly sturdy :D
But what you did with Jovial is really sweet. Respect is earned, when you respect his space, he respect you in return. Cheers, papa eugene!
