Harmoniously Us

After reading Arthur aka STP's blog about the Ramadhan Bazzar the other day, I was thinking to myself, I should take a stroll to one Ramadhan Bazzar which is about less than a km away from where I stay, to see what I could experience by meadering through the crowd and the bazzar.

After about 30 minutes of me strolling alone, equipped with my camera, snapping here and there, I really have this feeling that we Malaysians at large could really live harmoniously living as one big family regardless of color, race and religion.

I could see Malay,Chinese, Indian thronging the bazzar, buying food stuff, chatting away and looking so nice as if those non Muslim are telling those Muslim friends,"here we are feeling the mood of your joy too."

So, let us not be bothered by those bigot politicians telling us this land does not belong to you and me, my mother land is not "tong san" or India, it is here Malaysia. Less than 500 metres away from the Ramadhan bazzar, the Taoist Chinese are celebrating the month of Ghost, Ahmad has got no problem with that and Raju can even blend in with that too.

I was there early about 5.45Pm, it was already abuzz with business, and the best part, Ah Chong likes the nasi Melayu and Samy also can savor the ayam percik as well, aren't we not truly Malaysian.

I have always liked the multi color of the drinks, you know our Malay bros and sis are good in coming up with these delicious concotion of drinks.

There are all there, Malay, Chinese and Indian, we just love being there, feel the joy,the atmosphere and the spirit of feeling the joy of others. Most of the times, we can hear the greeting of "selamat berpuasa ya" said by a non Muslim and extended to the Muslim friends, who says we do not respect others' culture, religion and way of life?

Looks like inflation is creeping up on us already, sometimes it makes me wonder, the poor will have to break fast "poorly" but the rich could just spend a RM88 ++ , RM99 ++ or even RM109 ++ per pax for break fast in posh restaurant, what a contrast kan? I hope the rich can feel for the poor, and those corrupt would come to their senses that they are robbing the poor too.

I just like to see those Chinese wordings up there, truly muhibbah, I reckon. The Malaysian at large truly believe we can hold hands together and saying," We are Malaysian first, then only..........................." Too bad, even our No 1 cannot even testify to that..............how sad and pathetic, kan?

It was such a great feeling when i caught this ice grinding machine,I like it cos it is truly old school and manually operated. This reminds me of one thing, sometimes it is good to treasure the those old stuffs, like our old values that never change with time, for instance,Respecting one and another.

Happy fasting

P/S : I say again, I like Abu, Lim Ah Soo and Raju A/L Muthu

  4. Beautiful post... Don't we all live in harmony? Haven't we been living like these all these years...even during the time of the British?

Only the sick or narrow-minded ones are so insanely obsessed with those things and keep stoking the flame and trying to instigate problems. I'm sure all of us are not like that - we don't say, we just do. Keep the peace and spread the love!

To all our Muslim brothers and sisters reading your blog, selamat berpuasa.

I'm neither Chinese nor Chinese-Malaysian. I'm just a Malaysian and am proud of it.
