Whose fault? whose responsibility?

The angst of the parent," very hard to be a parent now, have to go cari makan,(earning living) and how to really keep an eye on the children ? "

The frustration of the teachers," Now, the students are not easy to be tamed lah, they can fight back one, we just do our job, leave the rest to them lah"

The children," School is boring, teachers are so boring and parents just don't care"

I love to chat up with those students while waiting to pick Jovial up, they are boys and girls in their teen ( 14 to 16 ) as far as I am concerned, these are the children to me are "not bad" but then again, they play truants, they smoke, they swear in profanity, they fight,(gang fight) they have no interest in studies, why?

To me, this is another form of "Brain Drain" I am sure these are the boys of girls who have their own "talents" or "gifts" . I have talked to a number of them, sadly those that i have talked to, came from broken families,(fathers ran away, divorced parent ) but then again, there are some who come from "normal families", why no interest in study ?

Is our education system too rigid? Are our teachers not willing to walk extra miles for the children? Are the parents too caught up with cari makan (earning living) thus neglecting the children? I really don't know but to me these children need to be brought up well.

P/S : We have holistic medicine, why can't we have holistic education for these boys and girls?

  1. lack of communication, lack of listening & lack of bonding play very important roles...

  2. In my personal opinion, I still think parents hold the greatest responsibility....

  3. In this case, we cant blame anyone in particular. Not one person in this world will have the perfect circumstances to grow up in. Anything can be made excuses.

In the end its still everyone's effort to make the changes, most importantly is the kids themselves, whether they wanted to change or not.

What we can do is just putting dreams in their vision, because I believe, right now, they dont see anything there for them.

  4. I think family & parent play an important role. So keep shower our kids with our love, but not too much until they can drown haha

  5. A very controversial topic. I also don't know who to blame for this bunch of youngsters. Parents and kids were both having to share the responsibility. I think so.

  6. This is very subjective. There is no right or wrong in parenting. We can't stop our children from growing up and teachers are working at their best to provide their students formal education.

Sometimes, I, too wonder what goes wrong...

I'm old school when it comes to raising children. I like it the biblical way, where the husband is the bread winner whilst the wife cares for the household. I'm a stay-at-home mum because no one can and no one wants to look after my children like i do. Our boys are growing fast and we can see that our sacrifice (in terms of a single income) is paying off. They're worth it. We're proud parents of 2 fine little men!

  9. To me family plays the most important role first, then the school. if a family is broken, their children will also disarray.. But that doesn't mean that they cannot succeed..

  10. Sadly, what you have commented is true and I am clueless on the method to solve it..

  11. I agree with Hayley, but even if parents have brought up their child in the perfect way. There will still be external factors... friends will also be a big influence to themselves. Then, comes the teachers to discipline their students... and comes another factor and so on ;D

Basically, everyone are involved... but even small steps made by anyone can be a big factor ;)

    Bless you!

  13. definitely a question to ponder, whose fault really?? i guess it's not just a party's fault but could be a collective ones.. anyway, this problem exists everywhere and anytime, it's just how we perceived it at different stages of life..

  14. hmm, true bro. Probably you should put some of your knowledge into a book, or a course to teach upcoming parents.

  15. There is a saying "Success has many parents but failure is an orphan" .
No one really wants to responsible for any failure.

    or........

Hillary Clinton's book " It takes a village to raise a child".

  17. everybody have to cooperate each other. parents, teachers and etc.

but where should we start? from school? from house..sometimes students/children is hard to manage.they have their own wants.

  18. We as parents should first take responsibility of our children upbringing. No ifs no buts about that. That's my opinion.

  19. very worrying society out there. We, as parents have to do our parts, communication with the teachers and most importantly with our children are crucial. We are having a lifelong education as parents.

  20. Pandai berak, sendiri pandai bersihkah sendiri punya tahi. Do not push the responsibility or the blame to somebody else.

Parents must always monitor their children - be close and open with one another...and any problem, nip it in the bud!

Work together with the school and the teachers and do not push everything to them...or blame them when things go wrong (to save own face!!!!). Parents should know when things are not quite right- anything wrong with the school or the teachers - consult the department. Anything wrong with the children, consult the school, the teacher.

It's YOUR own children...and when nasi already jadi bubur, it would be way too late. No point blaming anybody already then.

  21. CHildren going astray....well....many, many factors that cause this thing to happen, maybe it's an interaction of all the factors that concern the children: parents, circumstances and the children themselves, maybe external factors (e.g. grandparents, money, ect.)
