Tong Tong Cheang

When my lovely wife asked me if i wanted to buy any new clothes for the impending Chinese New Year celebration, i said no, simply because i still have enough clothes stored in my closet, albeit old ones.

When everyone is immersed in the jolly mood of CNY's celebration, not so for my friend, his is tinged with glum, disappointment and bad news, he did not get his bonus, worse still, his boss declared that the salaries across the board will be slashed by 25 % effective Feb 2011.

When i saw my friend carting away trolley full of purchase in a supermarket, i asked him did he really need to buy so much, his reply was funny, once a year ma....

How much you've spent so far for this festive season?.............. shop wisely and a great weekend shopping ya...................

God Bless and have some hearts for those who are less this and less that than you, ya ?

P/S : Thank God i still have a little to spare

  5. For me once a year is truly once a year wor. I don't buy at any other time of the year so that buying once a year is more special and an event for the kids. I believe that if you buy throughout the year, than kids no longer know how to appreciate having new clothes since they get it all the time.

  8. "once a year" only go for shopping? Is he for real?

人生有几个十年?不好让钱在银行,人在天堂。When in need to spent, splurge (wisely).... And save for the rainy days, too.

  22. You are talking about the same guy who is getting his pay cut by 25% and carting away heaps of goodies in supermarket? Quite subjective on what and how much to buy would be according to family size. New clothes bought much earlier few months back and only bicky and those small items which are taken care of by my soulmate.

  24. that's bad news, i mean getting slashed in salary right before CNY. well, I bought some new shirts for myself, normally buy new shirts once in a year also. hahaa...:)

  25. People says you can get cheap items during CNY sales but for me why do you buy them if you don't need them? I got over a dozens of new clothes that still in plastic and haven't used them yet.

    See you around.
