In the closet

For the past few days, i was busy arranging a steamboat meeting up of my primarily class mates of class 1974. (man already 37 years old of friendship) with another two old class mates. I was to call up the boys and another female class mate was to call up the girls.

One girl in particular i was dying to meet up for I have not seen her for about 30 years already, somehow someone managed to get her contact. With all excitement i delegated the job of inviting her through the female classmate who happened to have gone through the secondary school with her as well.

The news came back, my female classmate said this to me," Teik Leong (my old school mates call me this), no need to call Sin Lan, she won't come one" i was like how come, most of us would be happy to meet up with old friends ma, then she said," Her husband will not let her have social gathering with friends one, even we ladies friends also cannot go and visit her." Period.

Do you have such a friend and how can this be happening?

P/S : If you love somebody, set her free

  3. This type of husband is too controlling and lack of self confidence. That's my point view only.

  4. Think you have not heard the true and unfinished sentence. The husband says: "As long as Teik Leong is there no way my wife gonna go". haha

So far have not come across husband/wife not allowing spouse to mixed with old school mates but have cases spouse refuse to join in the gathering.

  5. geez...what kind of husband is that... =(

sad to say, I also had a friend like that. Last time organised a gathering then this lady friend arrived with her husband (that doesn't have a happy face), she stayed with us for only 15 minutes and left because the 'big boy' is sulking already. *sigh*

But I know some husband/wife very controlling one... I just feel that, everyone deserves his/her rights to catch up with own friends on their own...

  12. It takes all kinds to make the world... Sometimes, it's the wives themselves. I always encourage my missus to go out and socialise with her friends and colleagues but she doesn't want. Will only go when I go...but what for I go? Will spoil all the fun...
