I am not kidding you about this and it is so funny how we don't talk anymore or rather how we don't talk as much as we should anymore. Wives don't talk to their husbands as much as they should anymore and vice versa, children don't share as much as they should with their parents like they used to before the emergence of...........
For sharing sake, my lovely wife before she retires from the evening, she sometimes loves to cling on to her I phone watching don't know what, sometimes giggling away amusingly and when she is done, slumberland she will then be. It is funny how Iphone has taken the role of Eugene at night...LMAO indeed.
Remember one youth in his mid twenties, wrote about how he was going to kill himself on FB and eventually he really did, it is funny sometimes how those social network sites are better than human touch or the lack of interest parents' side to spend times with our children that spur them to look for those virtual avenues to vend their frustration and thoughts.
A friend of mine was telling me how sometimes she had to peep into her daughter's FB to see what's going on with her daughter and the funny thing they are living under the same roof.
If you are in those swanky al fresos the likes of Star Butts or Coffee Sin, one scene will be so apparent that you will see people clicking on their notebooks, Iphone, hightech phones or Ipads more than you see them interacting with one another, i know this for sure, i am almost there most of the weekends.
Sad to say, we are slowly trading our human touch to high tech touch, you might say we can't escape the onslaught of techonology, it is ubiquitous but in the end what do we really losing, i wonder?
P/S : Words do come easy........
I can't do that to my husband as he is a talker.. Everytime I am busy with my computer stuff, he would say "Ahem, can I have a minute?" and the minute becomes hours lol..
ReplyDeleteIt's killing human contact and communication. And it's sad. It's sucking me in. But I still go out with bunch of frens so that I won't rely too much on technology.
ReplyDeleteMy missus is addicted to games on her hp...even while watching soaps on tv. So you can imagine how much conversation takes place.
ReplyDeleteAs for my daughter, I can read her like a book...and she will tell me when I see from the look on her face that something isn't right.
I agree with you.. nowadays, not only my kids but myself too.. when we are in house together, you can even hear a pin drop cos 4 of us can be engrossed in the idiot box for some long moments!
ReplyDeleteoh I still remember a funny comic, the parent MSN the son that lock in the room at 1st floor, "dinner is ready son", how pathetic huh.
ReplyDeleteI definitely have to agree with you with this one bro. All those fancy gadgets have been replacing human connections. In the old days, nobody will be able to track where I was, nowadays though one could just send a text message.
ReplyDelete`lol go online and chat with your wife then. hehehehe
ReplyDeletetry chubskulit hubby way oso can.
LOL, frankly I'm guilty too! At night after sending my kids to bed, I'll prefer spending my free time till midnight infront of the PC than to accompany my husband watching tv. Well, simply because I have get used to the routine that my husband always traveled aboard!:p
ReplyDeletePeople talk to the idiot box and idiot handsets nowadays. The only things they touch are the keyboards and keypads. If we let this to go on, we will lose all touch eventually, and machines will take over our communication with humans.
ReplyDeleteSigh... I get the situation, those high-tech gadgets have slowly intruding our spaces and they are addictive!
ReplyDeleteSome received huge impact because they depend on those technology very much and are ignorant to their family.
Haha with or without iPhone, with or without FB, my other half always sit in front of pc playing pc games or online games. But good thing we work in the same place, we go to work in the same car, so we talk in the car when we travel together. :)
ReplyDeleteI think if we are put in the jungle minus all the tech, then we have time talking to each other. :P
ReplyDeleteTake christmas for example...
ReplyDeleteNobody want to send cards anymore. Cards were replace by text messaging, e-cards or emails...
I remember my cousin invite us to her wedding via Facebook. I was like, seriously??!! The funny thing is, we are living in the same village.
In the past, our ancestor will walk home to home just to spread the wedding invitation because it is more sincere if you invite peoples by a visit to their home. I am not asking we must do this in our era because nowdays the method is inappropriate. At least send invitation card...
It is very sad that our up to date gadget rapidly over take our tradition...
ha ha ha, now high tech, relationship must also go high tech lah.....LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis is the norm scenario in our household. Hubby and I would sit in front of our respective lap tops after the kids go to bed..and we'll chat ONLINE sometimes eventhough we are sitting next to each other....duh!...if I want to spend quality time with him, I have to make a very conscious effort to make sure our laptops are shut. and that goes with the iPhone..!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the comments ya,, thank you
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Hubby and I are not tech savvy people!
ReplyDeleteHey Eugene, it is "iPhone" not "Iphone" yah!
ReplyDeletehaha...i used to check on my SIL's status in FB for any updates. We are staying under 1 roof but I find it more comfortable to do it that way. haha
