They should not be talking like that.....

I went to pick up my lil one Marvell last Friday, while waiting for him, i chatted with those parents (mostly ladies) who were also waiting for their children, the hottest topic on that day was the result of the newly released PMR results and whose whose children got what result.

I was rather quiet during the chat, simply because i did not have any of my boys sat for the exam and i did not like to be "curious' as to whose children got what result but one thing really got me sad while hearing was that.............

Most of them were making the same comment and the same conclusion, what they said? They were saying how nowadays most of the students would score very well in this primarily exam, mostly 4As and straight As, i agreed to that but the conclusion they driving at that those children who did not score good results were be as good as "stupid"

When i heard the conclusion that they said, i quickly telling them that it was not so nice to label those students who did not do well in the exam as "stupid".

I believe no one student wants to score Es instead of straight As, or for that matter we just can't determine a child's future just because of one primarily exam, right? it was really unbecoming of them to label those students as "stupid" or Hokkien we say " gong" just because they did not do well..........

P/S : Just don't mark them off yet..........................

  6. Looking around, kids of our friends mostly scored well with 5As and some straight As. Kids these days literally score better than our days. I wonder why? Does that mean they are getting any smarter? Just my thoughts.

  7. Its just so typical of human to brand one another who they felt is being different than what they called 'normal'.

I'm glad that you are a very understanding person Eugene. WTFish would you call other kid who didnt do well stupid. You cant see the hidden potential in them, once they notice, it will make all their straight A's kids look more like the 'gong' that they use to label other.

  11. There are lots of them. When my daughter was in primary school, while waiting for her after school, I heard the mothers blowing their horns... I know some of them and their daughters did not do well later in their studies - drop out of uni, got pregnant and got married etc... Maybe they were retaliating against the pressure their mothers put on them. Sorry, ladies...but I only heard some of the women talking like that...none of the men.

  12. i soooo agree with you, i can infact name 10 friends who got bad result and end up better and richer and own company(s). and those who score As but end up makan gaji and stay put as exec level or small firm. do not label them at primary schools OR secondary school for that matter. i really those who fail often bounce faster, better and HIGHER.
