We lost contact for about 4 years now, not even a single call from me or from her to each other, i didn't even know that she got married already, so one fine Sunday morning when my handphone suddenly rang..........................
" Hey Eugene, guess who is this?" i said no idea so i promted us to talk further in order for me to determine whom i was talking to, eventually i knew.
" So how have you been doing Siew Mei? " she responded blah blah blah and then she finished with an invitation such as this," So Eugene, tonight are you and your wife free?" i asked her why,
She said her husband wanted to invite me and my lovely wife for a dinner, to my curiousity i asked again why.
" No lah nothing formal, just want to discuss a business plan with you and your wife to see you guys are interested?"
I told her kind of bluntly by saying i did not want to spoil my dinner which would be intercepted with barrage of questions such as this, " you want to make more money ka? " you want to have financial freedom ka?" have you planned for your retirement?" " what do you see yourself in 5 or ten years from now?" " what car are you driving me, ever dream of owning a Beemer or a Mercz?" so on and so forth.
Finally, i said to her i would obliged her if the dinner was for catching up with each other or to get to know her husband or so but strickly no business over dinner.
It makes me realized one thing, it is important to keep in touch with friends in order to make them feel comfortable when we want to talk about " Business", isn't it so?
P/S : We've lost that loving feeling
