Today i said "No"............

I saw two missed calls appeared on my mobile this morning, same number from a friend. As a courtesy, i returned call. Over the other line, my friend asked if he could borrow 2000 from me, ditto.

I had just lent this friend a 1000 last two weeks ago( with the consent of my wife's) he did pay back as promised on top of giving a little so called "commission" to me but i don't know why this morning i said No to him when he asked the double the amount he once asked. I felt kind of bad for declining a friend but there was a funny thought that ran through my mind that this time my friend would not be able to pay back as promised.

I really don't like to lose another friend because of loan not paid, i have already lost a few already.

Here wishing you a Happy Friday and a Great Weekend, no matter what Family First.

P/S : I wish i could still be considered a good friend with the "NO"

  7. 有时真的很难拒绝朋友的要求。。。不过2K也实在太多了,还是相隔不久而已叻。。。

    不要紧,相信你的朋友不会因为2K而不跟你继续来往。要是那样的话,你也看清他了。不是吗?

  9. money & travel with friends, you either break it or make it. experience both.

money - broke the friendship ofr more then 10 years. havent been talking to each other for teh last 3 years (and we work in same co, her hubby is in the same clique as we were school mate)

travel -havent been traveling with her for the last 2 years but remain as good friend.

saying no, prob be easier as the distaning will be shorter in terms of duration.

  10. I try to, but hardly say "No" when this situation arise, because the only borrower I've got is my hubb.

Remember, good friend is not to be taken for granted.

    Enjoy your weekend, Eugene :)

  11. An ex-colleague once borrowed RM1,000 from me and promised to return it to me. It has been 5 years, and I've never seen him since. Forgive them, and never lend them a single sen again. You did the right thing by denying him access to your wallet this time.

Like what they say, "Money is the root of all evil" - it helps you gain more friends, and lose them as well.

  13. I lent a blogger-friend a few K - professional, but caught in his gambling debts (football) or at least, that was what he said...and he's still paying me back - bit by bit when I asked...300, 500. If I don't ask, he'll pretend he cannot remember... I don't bother anymore - at least, now I know what kind of friend he is...and I know - God is all seeing, God is all knowing. What goes around, comes around...

  14. When I first started working, my father told me this "Neither a borrower nor a lender be". I have been living with this Shakespeare's famous quote ever since. Don't feel bad turning down a friend. We cannot be too obliging at times.

    Have a great weekend!

  15. What the reason of borrowing from you again? If it's life and death situation, I would, disregarding whether he's going to pay or not. But, I don't think it is right? :-)

    Have a good weekend!
