You know saying "sorry" can be so magical sometimes and most of the times it humbles you as well and i am glad i said " sorry" to my lil Marvell yesterday..........so the story goes.
As i open the door, he was there doing his homework in the living hall, he hollered "papa, papa" i responded, " hi darling, i am back" not wanting to waste anytime i reckon, my wonderful Marvell continued," so did you go and see doctor and what did the doctor said, papa?"
I was caught off guard, didn't know that i promised him that i would go and see doctor of which i never did but he was so concerned. Then i said this to him," Darling, i am so sorry, i lied to you yesterday for i was not sick therefore i needed not go and see doc, sorry ya"
" Are you mad at me for lying to you, darling?" there was long pause then he shot back," Ok lah papa, at least now you telling me the truth." i continued," if papa does something wrong, i think it would be nice to admit it and say sorry, right?"
" You are the best papa in the whole wide world" he said enthusiatically then followed with this," Papa, i also will not lie to you,ok?" I was happy and i gave him a kiss on the forehead and said" darling, i love you and i appreciate it"
Have a wonderful weekend guys and god bless
P/S : A little word, a big meaning
It's always very hard to admit one's mistake and say this special word.
ReplyDeleteYou make a good role model for your children. Bravo!
"I am sorry" is a word then need more courage than "I love you". I remembered the first time I said "I am sorry" to my child. It brought tear in her eyes.
