We are almost the same, aren't we not?

I was looking for a place to sit down for breadfast before going to church for the Sunday Service yesterday, managed to share one with another two church members of whom i have never met. As i was chasing after my addictive and must have morning Kopi " O" there came another church member who knew this two church members..................

As normalcy required and as we were all same church members sharing the same table, naturally some kind of pleasantries were exhanged such as," good morning uncle, and auntie" " coming to church ?" " your children must be already big, right " etc etc.

Suddenly, the older church member was telling about a David who got sacked from the church by the church elders for his habitual habit of asking for loan from other church members, then this older member frustrately ranting out this," We Christian are all hypocrites lah, lending money to another church members and yet wanted to report to the church as well, what kind of Christian are we?" I responded to the older member by saying this to him," ya uncle we are all hypocrites, regardless we are Christian or not, simply because we are all human."

After which, when i was in the midst of church congregation, my heart sunk so low as i was looking across the hall, seeing these brothers and sisters and the statement made by the older member in the coffee shop came flashing by my mind," How many of us really practise the way of a Christian should be after the Sunday Church service which is from Monday to Saturday?" " Are we only acting saintly on Sunday because everyone else is looking at you thus we've got no choice to be saint like, but when we are out of the Sunday Church, once again the hypocrisy eats into our lives and devours us of our sincerity because the Church is not looking at you now.

Guess we are almost all hyprocrites when we loosely greeting others," Hey how are you doing ?" when you dont really mean it, when we compliment others like," you sing very nice" in actual fact he sings like a dying a crow or " how are you keeping now ?"when in actual fact the last time you talked to him or her was like few months ago. Are we not a Hypo when we said to someone," Ok i will call you for coffee or lunch" but the meeting never seems to materialize.

Even as blogger, i used to be like a hypocrite too, i just penned down a few words in some other bloggers' comment box just because they came to my blog and left comments, sometimes i didn't really read the whole post, and i just so called copied and pasted some ideas borrowed from the comments before me and damn it i was guilty of it and ashamed of it too, really Hypo i must say.

Thank God, i dont do it now, i realized sincerity speaks a lot about a person, you can oblige your ways through but without sincerity, friendship will die off, relationship will waver and nobody will like you.

P/S : Hyprocrisy is my weakness but sincerity will overcome it.......................

  1. I think the reason why people is being such a Hypo is because they manage to turn every option into something relative which you only do it if it has some benefits for themselves.

The reason why everyone is so keen to be a saint on sunday during church is simply because everyone expect all the christian to be. we are simply doing it for the expectation of other people and forgot that we are actually become a christian because of God and which God exist 24/7 and not just on sunday.

  5. Eugene..i think it is not hypo to ask how have u been, how are u.. etc... those are greetings and courtesy in a way. :) I have a similiar case to the church as to loans, but actually cannot blame the church on the whole, it is the leaders who run the church.. bec of some decisions decided by them, the church got a bad name. Anyway, we do not know the whole storyline la.. so far, my church doesnt banish anyone out from here.. they can seek counseling from the pastor if they are in need or distress..
about leaving comments, nowadays i am more cautious.. dont simply read thru and comment, i used to speed read and landed myself in trouble those days! if i did not read thru, i will just write, "How are you..just coming by to wish you a good day.. " hahahahaa...
so if anyone sees this, it means i didnt read or just briefly browse through.. *secret out*

  9. Yes, I agree... I fell flat on my face once coming out of the church...and nobody bothered to help. And I've seen people quarrelling right after the service - over parking matters. They will know we are Christians by our love...not how we pray or go to church, not what we say but by what we do every day of our lives.

  10. I totally agree with you. I am not Christian, I am a Buddhist. I brought my children to Buddhist society every Saturday evening for some prayer. Same like Christian, not all Buddhists are kind. So, regardless what religious wehave, we are still human beings whom have a lot weaknesses.

  11. A person who is straight-forward tends to "hurt" others' feeling easily. Whereas a Hypo pleases everyone and appears more likable. Sad to say, most choose to be likable - who won't?

  12. haha yes in some circumstances I'm hypocrite. Well that is because I do not wanna hurt other feeling, being a sweet talk person telling white lies, I guess that is normal. I'll only frank to my close fren. Wearing mask everyday but remember to take it off when you step in your house.

  13. you've actually opened a can of worms - a huge can!! we all at one time or other act uncharacteristically, ie. we do not behave like our true selves, either to please others, or just to avoid confrontation. if you think about it, being hypocritical is just a way of self-preservation.

in this dog-eat-dog world, who doesn't want to survive???

  14. I think people are hypocrite in 1 way or another. I use to be 1 too, before I had Maine. After I had her, I kept reminding myself that I have to set a good example to her. What will happen to her if she turns into a hypocrite? And glad to say that I have somehow lessened this act so far. Have a nice day bro!

  15. Had similar conversation with my chief monk. He reminded me that I should not try to expect nor analyse too much of other peoples' attitudes as it only causes myself more suffering. He added that a large number of people who turn to religion are those who are in need of divine intervention to help solve their woes and problems or help them turn a new leaf from the bad side. So, we ought not to be harsh on them as they need time (possibly even more than just 1 lifetime) to achieve positive attitudes.

As for hypocrisy, I feel that positive greetings, however insincere they seem to be, is still better than being rude. ;)

We humans are a distressed lot, right bro? lolz

Take care and have a wonderful new week. ^_^

  18. Yeah, some of the church goers are pretenders where they could be nice to you in church.
However, I believe most of them are not perfect and still learning, even elderly folks.

  21. hahaa.. salute to you! if someone admitted their wrong doing. He should be forgiven. :)

  22. So there's nothing as being religious or not anymore. Those who attend church always, pray 5 times a day or visit the temple frequently could be the one who is very evil and wicked. :p
