Thomas Cup and the ill-numbered of 513

I really wish that Thomas Cup could be played everyday, so that we can all forget about politic, we can all ignore those stupid politicians making stupid statements and we dont have to worry about those insensitive people reminding us of 513 and best of all we dont even have to feel sad about certain quarter wanting to stage a so called mammoth gathering using 513 as a platform.

Last night, i really felt like a true Malaysian,(not that i dont feel like a Malaysian prior to last night but the feeling was not the same last night) while watching the Thomas Cup between Malaysia and the Danes, it was not really the result that excited me but it was the scene from the spectators that made me holler yes, "this is how we Malaysian should be"

I could see those spectators of different race, color, gender joining hands and shouting out loud "go go Choon Wei, Choon Han boleh. Zakry go go and Hafiz boleh" They just didn't care if Choon Wei was a Chinese or Malay, they just wanted the players to do the country proud, to bring back the glory that was to be shared and savored by all the Malaysian.

I wish those bigoted politicians can really learn a thing or two from our Thomas Cup players too, these players really know that they are equally dependant upon one another, Choon Wei cannot be the sole kingmaker, neiter can any other players be, they just needed one another.

Zakry cannot say i dont want to pair with Hoon Tien How because he is not of my own and Hafiz cannot be saying why cant I be the no 1 seeded single player instead of Choon Wei, they put all their differences aside and they fought for only one thing, they fought for the Glory of Malaysia.

Kudos to all our Thomas Cuppers, each and every one of you had made us proud and you just reminded us that 513 was really just history and forever it shall remain just that, history.

P/S : Together we stand tall, together we can conquer the Great Wall...

  2. syabas m'sia. I hope 1992 will be repeated, not 513. Beat China again in semis and then indo in final. Last time, we also the underdog to china, they have zhao jianhua, li yongbo, xiong guobao..etc. But we beat them.

  15. Teamwork and unity! When it comes to stand their ground, people can unite despite our differences. I would say in all sports, you can see the fans of different ethnicities and genders cheering for their team. As for politicians, its their monies that get them where they're at so they run their terms for their self interests. Rarely do we come across a great politician who speak for the people, act for the people, and care for the people.
