My Heart's Desire...........

Two happenings moved me tremendously yesterday. Firstly, my friend's son was expelled from school yesterday (offence, intimidating his fellow schoolmate with the aim of taking "protection money") he is only 16, young and handsome boy. I was thinking to myself probably he could turn out right if he were to be given a second chance, and today i promised my friend that i would go with him to talk to the headmaster.

Secondly as i was watching my wife and friends playing tennis yesterday evening, there were these three little boys cheekily walked into the tennis court where they were not supposed to be, i didn't chase them out, i knew that they were curious about tennis. Chatted with these beautiful children( 2 of them 11 years old, another one 14 stopped school already). I was so surprised to hear that these three children were also involved in the triad community,(the black society)

Innocently, one of the boys told me that he had earmarked some of his friends for next year's collection of protection money, i was so shocked. When i delved a bit into these boys' background, i was sad.

When i was reading my daily christian article this morning from odb. (our daily bread), i was telling the Good Lord of my heart's desire, and co-incidentally the article today simply resonated what i felt all this while.

You see, i have always wanted to do my bit for those children boys and girls alike, who are so innocently lost and enticed by the bad elements, they are so gullible into believing into what's wrong to be what's right. I always knew that there was a so called heart's desire of mine to move along that direction and what i need now probably could be the guidance form the Above.

I always believe that as an adult, each and everyone of us can do our part to save these innocent boys and girls.

If you find this article boring, sorry it is only my sharing

P/S : Please dont let these beautiful children turn ugly

  2. reading your article is not bore at all. parents now are more concern on how to earn more money to let their child join special activities, bring them oversea for holiday once a year, so that parents can be proud in front of their friends.but they forgot to ask what the child need actually...

  3. Their motivation is simply money, power and a inferiority complex. We all know that there are number of reasons why these kids turn out this way. There's still hope for them as they can turn into good members of society if the right person reaches them.

  4. The thing is, the society these days loves to condemn others. *points to the gov and politicians*. They are the one who should repent first, for they like to play God. Condemning others while they are one of the biggest sinners.

  6. Lots of them in the schools - called the parents...and they blamed the teachers, wouldn't admit...said the teachers spin tales, wanted to sue for defamation... The bottom line is: who's to blame? The parents!!! And they blame EVERYBODY...except themselves! World Cup coming...sure a lot of betting in the schools - by the thousands, mind you! Not just one or two plates of char kway teow!!!

  7. What's today lesson?!! "Stand guard our kids 24 hors a day, 7 days a week!!", LOL... just kidding!

These kids are poor souls who has been neglected by their parents, it's definitely parents' fault of not taking enough concern for their kids... sigh~!

Have a nice day to you... btw, I never find your post boring, cheers!

  8. While in school, I know of many young kids who dropped out of school to join gangs. A few met violent deaths from rival gangs. As a matter of fact, a friend was killed by gunshot wound two months ago. He did protection money collection. I wish more can be done to help these troubled teens. I think parental involvements play a huge role in the lives of the children. Unfortunately too many parents are busy working to mind their kids. It's very troubling. I wish you can convince the headmaster to give your friend's son a second chance.

I wrote this on my facebook just recently after reading your previous article:

If you don't teach your child, someone else will. In other words, if you don't teach your child about the wages of sin, someone else will teach him/her about the pleasures of sin.

Good impressions made upon our kids will abide upon them all their lives. Many have departed from the good ways in which they were trained up but early training may be a means of their recovering themselves. At least the parents will have the comfort of having done their duty and used the means.

In my opinion, nothing is more valuable to a child than the time given by parents to listen and talk.

I gave up my high paying job when my eldest child was born. I am now a stay-at-home mum because no one can and no one wants to look after my children like i do. I take it seriously. They're worth it!!!

  12. well am not surprise with this one. ccz some of the friends i know are worse than this one. and yea it is sad to know all these. :(

Sometimes can't really blame the parents and perhaps its from the teens themselves. If they know what they are doing and consider about the consequences of their act, it shud be fine. :)

  13. So it is all about parenting. How a family brings up their children is very important. :)

  15. All these have been going on for long time. Maybe you didnt encounter it when you were growing up.

At times could be the parents at fault and others are due to peer pressure.

Had a fren who join the triad but he managed to get out of it with some kind soul help
