Infuriated by used and unused condoms.....part 2.

Remember i told you guys about an old school mate of mine who was having some problems with his son "doing it too early " with his " too little too young" girlfriend and my friend shared his story with me.... so it goes.

He finally confronted his son with the proof of the used and the unused condoms indicating that my friend knew what his son was doing. He told me his son was so cool about it when confronted even with the proof, and moreover his son was so cool untill he told my friend that there was nothing wrong with him having sex and many of his friends were doing it as well.

My friend was furious but he could not resort to punishing him at his age of 16, so he told me. My friend however decided that he wanted to talk to his son's girlfriend as well so he summoned his son to invite his girlfriend over to talk about the issue.

What my friend narrated to me about his son's girlfriend's reaction really blew my mind. The girl told my friend that she knew what she was doing, assuring my friend somemore that they would not create havoc and moreover Raymond (my friend's son name) was not her first boyfriend that she had the "close encounter " with.

My friend told me that he was caught by surprise with the girl's defence of her action, and my friend said he felt so ashamed of himself that he felt that he was not qualified to lecture them for he was just like that once.

When i asked about what his present wife reaction towards this issue, he told me his wife (who is from China) could not do anythig about it as the relationship between she and his children is much less to desire.

He told me he had no choice but too leave it to the youngsters and their own wisdom to do what is wrongfully right or righfully wrong.

Can't we correct them if we were once bad?

P/S : May be sometimes we should seek God when man's wisdom fails

  9. I think parents can still correct their children even if they were once bad. They just have to explain to their children the consequence of doing bad things and that the children don't have to experience it in order to learn /know something, after all the parents have already experienced it and have faced the consequences.

  10. probably what i'm gonna comment here is slightly different than what most people would say...it is hard for parents to prevent these sort of things to happen and the more you try to forbid them to do so, the more tempted they will be. what most parents think is that forbidding their kids to do so is the correct way of educating them but it is not. This is because the environment we lived in are no longer that conservative and we are exposed to a lot of social sickness. We are all young once and I am damn sure that this is not a rare case. I've heard people as young as 13 having sex.

I think your friend shouldn't get furious as from what i read...he too once made the same mistake? It is important for parents to educate them regarding the safety and problems and always remind them of being responsible for every single action..you can never undo a mistake but you can always help to correct and prevent the mistake from happening again. Trust me, getting furious over the son and girl will only make them much more rebellious. Regarding of what age one lose his or her virginity, parents should just try to guide them by educating them the importance of safe sex and responsibility. I think your friend should be glad that his son at least uses a condom. what if he don't?

for that girl, i think many shouldn't be so surprised by her statement. It is a norm already. Leaked sex videos on the net is already a proof. I think both parties should be open to each other and try to discuss matter rather than getting angry over spilled milk..

  11. i am speechless with this one. hmmm.. really dunno what to say. I dunno if i considered lucky for having such conservative parents for guiding me to the right path and yes of course I always thanked to the lord for giving me guidance.

For me, as a girl, we should know how to take care of ourself. Am not saying i am gud at here but at least i can differentiate whats the right thing to do n the other way rounds when it comes to relationship matter. When i was in that age, whats on my mind was only STUDY, yea u may say me nerdie last time, but well i managed to score very well n make my family proud of me. :)

maybe the girl just used to her life before and she dont mind at all. n guess maybe ur friend and his wife pay less attention to their boy and caused such things happened.

  12. Guess it's rather hard to advice them. They are young and thinks everything it's ok. Guess your friend will just need to continue trying to advice them

  13. we can!

we learn from the experience and we share it with them. it is not wrong at all.

too open is another thing. but in this case i think his son has no respect to him anymore and he should keep advising the kid on sex before marriage and risk of HIV even though they are using condom. it's not 100% safe.

    jeez!

  17. Zaman sekarang ... really make me wory !!
Both parents and kids should slow talk and discuss on this matters , dont get too furious , it might make the kids more rebellious. Nowsday kids cannot scold and beat like our time .... patient and god guidance is need !!
Not easy to be a parents !! huhuhuhu.

  18. Read about last Sunday's Star article about "Safe sex? Or Abstinece?"?! Look at the bright side, atleast they are implementing safe sex!

Parents should put themshleves into the kids' shoes too, they really need tactics to talk into... good luck to your friend!

  20. Wow this is shocking but I suppose this is when a parent should have made the effort to explain the birds and bees and consequences once they hit puberty.
