I was scared of sudden death......

As i was leafing through the pages of newspaper last saturday, i saw a picture of a friend (my buddy's brother) , and as i zoom into the detail of the reported news, i was devastated to read that my buddy's brother succumbed to heart attack whilst chit-chatting with his friends at his shop last friday evening.

He was 43 years old, a year younger that i am, a health freak and a dragon boat enthusiast and a jolly kind. I remember i used to pass his shop selling leather products, and i love to shout at him, " ah siang" and in respond he would return with a big grin.

I was not feeling nice over the weekend result from my friend's sudden demise, the cliche has it that " Life is Short, therefore live life to the fullest" and i wonder what do we mean by living life to the fullest ? Can somebody please tell me?

If God's willing i really dont want to die a sudden death and especially living behind my two wonderful boys at this ages of theirs.

Sorry folks for sounding so glum the start of the week......... wishing you a great week ahead

P/S : We could not choose death but we could choose God

  1. neither do i... guess we have to do yearly medical checkup, eat good and exercise frequently. And, enjoy each day that the Lord has given us. Have a good and blessed week!

  2. Living life to the fullest for me is to live up to our own purpose of life which God has already given to us.

Live out the passion that I have for people and even if I'm gone today, I will still be able to leave a legacy behind. Dont think too much of death cause it will take your focus away from life itself =)

    Enjoy your week ahead people!

  4. Me too, Eugene... I've always thought of this and how it will affect Amanda. May God let me guide her till she's ready to be on her own. And to you too... Amen.

  6. I wouldn't mind...just dropping dead! I think that's the best way to die - better than falling sick, suffering for years and years, operation after operation... I always pray that God may be merciful and kind.

  8. Life is impermanent as the saying goes birth, old age, sickness and death there is strictly no escape. But going too soon is very sad coz lots of things not done or completed as yet.
Agree with suituapui just drop dead or die in the sleep is best. I would wish to die during meditation. Have you ever hear of these words during any quarrels or fights where people will say angry words in Hokkien "lu boh hoe si" [you don't die good]. Why? They want the fella to suffer and not instant death. That's truly a bad curse and should never leave the lips. Don't feel too sad for your friend perhaps the higher SELF got bigger plans for him tQ.
