2.30 am, 43 years old man and 1 night.....

It came back again, and it really did despite my tired body after a game of tennis, despite a few drinks i had, it really came back again and i didnt like it, how i hated it but it really came back again.

This 1 night (last night), suddenly my 43 years old body revolted, it went against my wishes and at 2.30 am, i woke up, feeling lost with thousands of thoughts playing tricks in my mind, tossed around the bed but still could not get back to sleep. Dragged my zombied body to the living hall, turned on the TV, US Open came to life, it was live coverage between Odin and Petrova, the match ended, still could not get back to sleep.

I used to suffer from insomnia, albeit the mild one, my sleeps had always been very erratic, that was part of the reason i sought refuge in the form of night drinking, got over the drink and it was ok for a long while now, but it really came back again last night.

I know it is not something to worry about, but i just hate the feeling of not able to sleep well.......

Q) Do you have any remedy for a good night sleep? I really need one

  4. Music will do =) ... or maybe listen to your favourite song ~ what i do normally when i lose sleep .... i used to switch on my MP3 loud on my ears ..... drag myself in the song ... sang with it ... dance with it, as long as you can put fully + enjoy yourself in the music ~~ * the way to hypnotise myself from thinking too much * then following with some soft / classical music ... then will sleep =)

  9. Have insomnia myself sometimes so it's hard to recommend a cure. Usually I just read a book to calm myself.

  10. sorry about your insomnia. perhaps you should go to bed when you feel sleepy and tired and try to fight the sleeplessness. I don't have insomnia cos' I am a late sleeper.

  13. Listening to some soothing music is a very good method.

Try not to overdo on your exercises... eventually it might tired you out to omuch and end up you would be too tired to sleep.

Another one would be a hot drink would be a good trick too.

Never read on the bed or watch tv.. keep bed things for the bed... like sleeping, napping, *ahem* else the body will get too use to the other activities, it won't know the bed is for the purpose of resting. I read it somewhere last time :P.

  14. avoid all caffeine drinks for start. no coffee, no tea, no coke !

a glass of red wine knocks me out completely so you can try that perhaps but don't develop from insomenic into alcoholic...

try Milo perhaps... it's nice and soothing, or warm milk like previously suggested by other people.

can try camomile tea too, if you can find some. it's meant to help you sleep better.

  22. After a workout or sports, Im sure you will be real tired unless you past that sleeping hour. Try to sleep early and listen to soothing music and try not to think. Just breath in and out. A refreshing sleep is important to start the next day, not just to rest for today.

  23. Don't think about what you're going to blog about the next day. That one guarantee to keep you awake one. If I start blogging in my head, I sure hop from one blog subject to another until kenot sleep. Siao hor.

I used to have imsomnia too but dunno why now its gone. So theres hope. You won't have it forever. :)
