He is frustrated.....religiously speaking

I find this to be kind of funny and sad at the same time, it has got to do with sex, religion, a wife, celibacy and marriage. A conversation between a friend and me, a friend that was kind enough to share his predicament and his woe with me, initially i thought he was talking nonsense but he told me it was more than real, i asked him if i could blog about it, he said ok, because he too wanted to know, if what he was facing, ever happened to somebody else.

He said his wife had changed, not a normal self already, he lamented to me. I asked how did she change, had she found a new interest, or had she got tired of you, he refuted my opinions. He told me they were like very close, a healthy marriage, a fullfilling sexual relationship and everything was going smooth untill about two months ago, when she started attending a religious gathering which involved fasting, chanting, meditation and whatever not. Thereafter, sex was like sag to him, kiss was like shit, romance was like torment and he said he could not take it anymore.

He said, he could not have sex with his wife on friday, that was the day she would go fasting, and it was strickly a taboo to engage in sexual activity when she fasted, he complained to me. He said even when times if he could have sex with her, it was not like last time,(kind of hell broke loose type), she would be inertia, and emotionless, he whined again.

Now the wife kept talking about englightenment, about life after life, about how temporal we were on this earth, again he bewailed and bemoaned to me. He asked me what my advice was for him................... i was like jokingly telling him, first thing he should do was to celibate and then follow by castrating himself, he scolded me.. "crazy lah you"

Seriously, i told him i really didnt know how to advise him, when i asked him to talk to his wife and told me he tried but to no avail. I'd heard about so many funny things about so called "religious practices" which were weird and absurd, but didnt know it could happen to my friend.

Q1) Why do you think that caused the sudden change in the wife?

Q2) What funny rituals have you ever heard from any religious practices?

Q3) What were you do if you were to be my friend?

P/S : I thought God wanted us to have sex and multiply?

  1. marriage is between 2 persons.. talk it over with each other.. doubt she listens, huh?

it must be a cult or something? not too sure.. but high possibility that this type of situasi might end up one having extra marital affairs...

  2. I think something is not right there. No religion creates disharmony in a family.. :(

  3. Serious. This is one big issue I feel. One that is totally out of his hand. For starters I thing her can speak to his wife and asked her what had really happened.

If possible try to attend the religious classes too and see what it is all about.

  6. when we get too fanatic with anything,we'll intepret things differently & bizarrely. so we need to take a step back to look into it from all angles.

maybe wifey needs to take a step back a lil, hubby can help by having a slow talk, get involve a lil bit.it may take some time to let her see. but its worth it juz to get that sizzle back in the marriage.sex is like icing, without it,things become plain.

  8. That's sucks. Im afraid your friend's wife may join a wrong sect or cult. Maybe it helps if your friend join her in the religious meetings and see for himself how it's like.

  9. Did something happen to someone close to her that she have turned to religion for help? Did is something the husband should know... or maybe something happened to her in health or anything at all... that she is worried.

Your friend needs to know or find out if anything went wrong. Can't just let present occurence be the judge of the change and "don't know" be the answer. It isn't normal for religion to ruin a family... and sex isn't wrong with the one you love unless it is adultery. The wife's "cult" has issue? :/

  12. Q1) Could be she was influenced by someone or maybe she seen too many death.

Q2)Funny rituals..uncountable. Like after going for a Wake, have to bath with kemayan smoke and cannot go into the house from front door.Ahem apa macam if like me stay in apartment? Climb in by the window ah? The next thing you know you be going for my Wake pulak. mati pasal fall from apartment window.

Q3)Find out the roof of the cause and go from there.

I very geram when people are so supersitious. No where in Quran, Bible nor the Buddhist scripture asked to do all those nonsense ritual. Religion is from the heart. Not doing things for people to see.

  18. hmmmm, complicated relationship problems.. it's like one could not follow the pace of another - so both have to make adjustment in order for both to get in synch..

  19. What religion is this, may I ask ?
I went to a religious gathering, I believed in their way of life and practise but during the gathering, girls n boys were not allowed to sit together n that freaked me out. I never went back. LOL !
Can't help your friend much but if he joins his wife, maybe things will work out better for them ?

  20. I agreewith reanaclaire. This will lead to extra marital affairs if the wife is no careful. Don't blame the husband, he's the leftout one.

  22. when you join any association, society, club, cult(if it seems so to you),churches, sectarians, institutions or the likes, they preaches cutting down on "horse racing" on certain days or totally celibates - its totally WRONG already.even many religions regulates their followers abstain from exercising one of the most pleasurable doings on earth, they still do it secretly and everything 's fine.your church leader says "don't play" but you go home and play till thy kingdom come also no pobem.the priests and nuns enjoyed themselves secretly also in many parts of Europe's monasteries.the problems now lies with the followers who are weak in their minds - easily brainwashed types.infact when you levels a group as cult, may not actually be a cult whereas the ones not levelled as cult are infact cultist.if the wife practices meditation, thats good and healthy but if she celibates - that can be ommited.so we all got choices on just about everything.
