"Mommy I love you"

We were having some "makan makan" at Weissbrau restaurant at Straits Quay Penang yesterday, as we were enjoying ourselves, chatting away and at about 5 plus, suddenly I felt dizzy and felt like throwing up and next to me, I saw the glass panel of the showcase rattling, I thought what the heck it was.

I walked out of the restaurant, I saw people jostling out to the open spaces, I went back in to the restaurant and there were still some rattling, I knew it was a tremor resulting from some quake from Indonesia,(that's my hunch)

Seated back and trying to finish up my foods because could not find the peace to hang around too long cos Straits Quay is by the seaside and was built on a reclaimed land then suddenly my lovely wife was telling me this.

"You know, just now Jovial held my hands and said "I Love You" to me" I turned back at Jovial," Why you said that to mommy and not to me" he said, "Papa, I scared we would die from earth quake and you were outside ma"

Life's like that, a simple " I Love You" can bear different degree of significance at different times but most of the times,,, we overlook it.

P/S : Family first, no matter what

  1. Aww... that is so sweet! Not many kids/boys can bring themselves to say those three little words to their parents, mom or dad.

Yeah, read that the building you were in felt some tremors. Also read that people are more on the alert in Penang this time, getting prepared for any eventuality. Take care there.

  2. That is so sweet of Jovial. A sincere 'I Love U' when it matters most. Thank goodness this time there is no tsunami. Let's pray for those affected by the earthquake.

  3. When in such situation , your children can utter those precious words, you know it is straight from their hearts. Glad everybody is ok from that tremor. I did know about it until I saw some posting on FB. Of course I didnt feel it here at Johor.

  9. My daughter in SP called me and asked why the whole place was shaking - I quickly checked online and a while later, the news about the earthquake was made available and a lot of people everywhere were talking about it on Facebook. Glad it did not turn out to be anything horrendous. Take care, Eugene and all. God bless always.
