101XX...................................

While I was waiting for Jovial this afternoon, I was mingling with the usual gang of those school bus drivers, then what I overheard thereafter really sent shivers down my spine, a few boys and with this chubby girl and the boys would teasing her in Hokkien, something like this.

The boys were saying," You "ho seh liao lah" going to be mommy already" then the girl was shooting back at the boys with vengeance, hollering loud and clear,so oblivious to our "uncles presence.,then she said so proudly ," I am not afraid lah, my period miss only one month"

This was not the end yet, the boys retaliated in words," sure or not ? you are not scared?" if really become mother, you don't even know who the father is." then the boys were laughing again, then what that chubby girl replied really mad me sad,she said.

"Ya lor,now to think of it, I don't even know who the father is, cos I slept with "she mentioned 4 names, I could only remember one"that's Ah Moo"

At this juncture, I was telling myself I must do something about this, then I waved at the girl, I said," Hey, girl, please come here, uncle wants to talk to you? nonchalantly she walked away without heeding me.

Before she walked away, I took a look at her badge, I saw the number,"100XX" meaning this girl got into secondary in 2010,she retained one year,so now 2012 she is only in her form two. After she walked away, I began to talk to the boys who were teasing her, I asked them if it was true with all those things they said about her, then out of nowhere, one boy interjected the rest of the boys and started telling............

"sure lah, this girl is famous for sleeping around, we all know last year she even had an abortion"

Sad, isn't it? I jotted down her badge number and I would see my friend who happens to be the disciplinary teacher there tomorrow.

P/S : This is really very scary, ain't it?

  1. Teenagers now these days are no more as young and naif as our days. Girls from broken homes are mostly the victim of this, they will find love but not knowing the cost and the danger they will face.

    1. Yes Adelyn, it is indeed very sad to learn this, therefore I think as parents,we need to give our children a happy home, not made of riches but of love

  2. Parents too busy making money, having their own social activities, having children just for the sex and not caring about bringing them up properly and teaching them right and wrong...and push the blame to the teachers and the schools or anybody and everybody but themselves. It's a sick society out there...

  8. It's sad to see what happen to youngsters nowadays. Some may come from broken family, some are spoilt brats. There are many causes to this and we cannot put blame on the parents/teachers/media alone.

Glad you made the right decision to help this girl. She may hates you now for being KPC, but she'll thank you 10 years later.

  9. eugene, seriously, you should do something. We're responsible for our young generation. Their parents might not know what they did, but we know, so we should be helping. Not for the sake of getting them to be punished, but at least educate them the right way to live life. I think you need to be sensitive towards this girl too in order to help her. Maybe she's lost. Or there might be other reasons. Don't be too harsh. Think of a proper ways to help. Otherwise, I am afraid the result will be worsen.
I met 2 young boys last two days and they're creating some mess near the lift area. I told myself, I need to do something. So, I told them, if they do so, the cleaning makcik will need to clean it up later on. They stopped doing it and I guess they will remember me. :P

  11. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Social problems among the teens are so rampant nowadays, it is indeed very saddening to read such stories :(
