Was talking casually to a few lady friends of mine the other day, then one gal suddenly popped up this question.........." Eugene, what movie that you once watched that you still remember right until now.""""""""""""""
I said surely I remember..........it is none other than "Kramer vs Kramer"
One thing for sure, I never knew why my late Papa, did what he did to me in regards to that show,"Kramer Vs Kramer" I remember I was like 13 years old back then, you see my Papa used to call me up and asked me to wait for him downtown and we would go and watch movies together, after which he would take me back on his bicycle......(how i miss those time, papa)
Incredulously enough, for Kramer Vs Kramer, he just bought one ticket,he waited for me at Cathay Cinema, met him there,he just told me,"Leong, go and watch the show, when the show finishes,I wait for you outside"
Walked into the cinema, seated at far right seat, center row, the rest of the row was filled with ladies...........halfr way through the show, I heard sobbing, sound of tears jerking and I knew I'd love this movie already..................I have always have soft spot for this kind of family oriented movies.
It's funny, back then when I was 13,my English was far from being Okay, I could not understand the movie dialogs, all I knew was that the little boy,the divorced parent, the love, the hugging and the tears,,, I shed some too,I remember.
Same frivolous question to you .........what movie you remember till now?
P/S : Papa,,, thank for the memory
:) Sweet memories.. Love the way your papa showed his love.
ReplyDeletewait you were 13 in 1979? I wasn't even born yet bro
ReplyDeleteToo many movies that I like. Dramas, can I pick two? Meteor Garden (Taiwan) and Princess Hours (Korean). Because both dramas I watched more than 3 times.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I remember most of the movies I watched ;)
ReplyDeleteSWALK... Mark Lester, Jack Wild.. i was 12 then... fell in love with Mark Lester.. crazily infatuated.. hahaa...
ReplyDeleteAvatar cant remember the rest woh?? So how?
ReplyDeleteI prefer "The Champ" starring Jon Voight and the little Ricky Shroeder... Same storyline, more or less...broken families, divorce...fighting for the son...but "The Champ" made me cry - so sad, the ending!
ReplyDeleteThe longest movie was during school days think its "Ben Hur" with an interval halfway through. The oldest movie, sorry dunno the name which ma Mama's fav Patrick Tze 謝賢 acted and Bananaz often slept in cinema except those sword fighting ones. Bananaz have asked ma Mama before "why the sword go right in between the arm pit the men can die one?"
ReplyDeleteso touching, your papa did the right things, too bad he didn't watch together with you; not sure because he wanted to save money for he didnt want you to see him cry.
ReplyDeleteI watched my movies and some of that I still can remember. The most I enjoy one is "The Lord of the ring". I watched 3 of the episode in cinema.
ReplyDeletedeep throat!
ReplyDeleteI seldom watched English movies when I was young, because my parents not English education. Mostly Chinese movies like those vampires, ghost stories. I remember watching Back to the Future during the 80s. I was 2 years old in 1979.
ReplyDeleteFrankly I have very short and limited memory. Watched a lot of movies but can't remember the title nor the plots. The latest I watched is Smurfs.
ReplyDeleteUnless if someone brought up the movie, it's likely I don't remember at all, lol!
