Bad Habit..........

I love to go to the Borders in Quennsbay Mall, where it also houses a Starbuck there, just love to read with my children coupled with a piece of cheese cake and my Americano,no sugar,no cream.

I was talking to the security guard yesterday when i was there with my boys,(minus my lovely wife),why they put up a sign that reads like this in Starbuck," Customers are only allowed to read a book at any one time, thank you for your cooperation)

The the guard told me it was all because of the ugliness of our human nature, for an example, customers would just take so many books and magazines into Starbucks and never bother to place them back to where they took them from.

Sometimes when the staff of Borders of Starbucks go around picking up the books or magazines, some of them were already tatterd and there are even words scribbled inside the books, what more those magazines which are wrapped with plastic are unwrapped and the customers would just leave them there.

I guess this is the selfish act of certain man and woman that sometimes leave us feeling aghast....

P/S : When it is everyone's business,it is no one's busines

  1. Some people unfortunately don't think about what they are doing that can cause inconvenience to others.

We sometimes have this unfortunate attitude of "well, let the staff do some work" mentality going on. Like, one throw rubbish on the road and says "otherwise, the street sweeper don't have a job to do". :(

  2. Would "First-class infrastructure, third-class mentality" apply to us?

A bookshop is my all-time fav place to hang out. I can spend hours in there.

  7. Overseas, even at places like McDs, KFCs...and the like, everybody will clear up the mess on their tables, throw it all away in the bin and stack up the trays on top nicely. The same also in the uni cafeterias.

Just look at what people do here...and the canteens in our schools. I hang my head in shame - our (young) people here behave like their parents have never taught them properly....
