I could not really contain my excitement nor my a bit of self loftiness when someone just said 4 words and 1 exclamation mark, even though i did not show it in front of her but frankly i was feeling happy inside.
I was there delivering some products to one of my long time supportive customers, as i sauntered into her office, there is always one thing that i could expect from her, a pleasant smile on her face. There i was meddling with the products with some exchange of pleasantries, then................
Then suddenly she said," Your blog also good ma !" i was like Miss Tan what were you saying, though i did not blurt it that way, i was like," Please say it again, please," hahhaahhaha.
Courteously i said "thank you" and i was digressing to other product related topics, at this juncture i was like floating in cloud nine powered by these 4 words and 1 exclamation mark. In actual fact i wanted to ask her how did she stumble upon my blog and what not, frankly i should have done so but then again i was shrouded with thick clouds of No 9. hahahahahah.
Now, isn't it so simple to make someone happy, you can make your spouse happy by saying may be like" dear, thank you for all that you have done to the family" or "son, thank you for loving papa, i appreciate it" or even," It is ok with the mess son, that stuff you did was nice" and many many more.
So to you Miss Tan of Crystal Point 4th Floor, if you happen to read this post, thank you so much by saying it, you could have chosen not to compliment me, thank you really.
P/S : I am just a human, sometimes i do want to float in cloud nine
Eugene,
ReplyDeleteyou are right we are all human, and we do like to hear compliments every now and then, even though we might say otherwise. It is a fact we want to be appreciated. so it's good to say good things to people, more so to your love ones and those you cared for. It will mean alot to them. sometimes timely too when they are down or need encouragement. so keep it up.
Yah wut, your blog also good wut. Haha. Thanks for hopping over with some much needed good advice from this father of teens. Thats right we all need encouragement and cheering on and compliments. It really makes our day.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is so easy...just a few nice words can make somebody's day...but be careful. On the contrary, a few not-so-nice ones can ruin it.

ReplyDeleteA little compliment means a lot. I love to receive compliments, too, as well as others and it really helps to boost up our morale :) Don't you agree?

ReplyDeleteI agree Eugene, the strategy is "Open the mouth with only nice thing", in another way is, "Don't open your mouth, if you have nothing nice to say."
ReplyDeleteeasy and simple..but the fact, most people don`t know how to appreciate and forgot to say good things to others *pening2*
