Ah Beng used to love Char Koay Teow( fried noodle) since he was small but after one fateful incident happened to his mother when he was 11 years old, Char Koay Teow has become his greatest nemesis.
On that fateful night, Ah Beng said he was hungry, his doting mother knew that he loved Char Koay Teow walked out from the house, crossed the road (there was a char koay teow stall just across the street to where they lived),his mother was fatally knocked down by a motor cyclist while crossing the road.
Untill now Ah Beng still blames himself and Char Koay Teow for his mother's death, he is i think in his 40s now. Ah Beng is my friend.
You know some of us if not many of us litteraly carrying those unwanted baggages years after years and we allow them to shackle our lives.
A lady shuts herself off from any relationship because she was once cheated, a father or a mother cannot live out a wonderful marriage because he or she was abused when small or going through those pain when parents got ugly divorce and many many more.
As the year finally coming to its tail end and as the drum rolls begin to crescendo ushering in the new year 2011, let us off load, untie and clear those unwanted baggages, put them at the threshold and enter into 2011 with new visons and hopes...........
Here wishing you guys a blessed, joyful and family oriented New Year see you guys next year.........
"Come to Me those who are weary and heavy laden for i shall give you rest......"The promise of the good Lord.........Matthew 11.28
P/S : The Lord is my deliverer...................amen
Let bygones be bygones, they say. However, easier said than done. Some pain takes a long time to heal; others may not heal at all.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family, too :)
Everyone has a past... But try not to make it a burden and we should always look forward, agree?
ReplyDeleteWishing you and family, Happy New Year 2011~
thats what i plan to do. move forward positively.
ReplyDeleteLeave the grieve behind and start each day fresh. The unwanted baggage is history....
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, Eugene!
I have a poor memory so I tend to forget.. that landed me in trouble a couple of times..
ReplyDeleteSo to remember or to forget is better? gosh..
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BE BLESSED FOR 2011, EVERYONE!!!
A very Happy 2011 to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThere are times when there are things we can never forget - things we will have to leave with. That is why it is best that we look before we leap, accept that we cannot have everything and everything our way - appreciate whatever things that come our way, big and small...and try to be happy always. This is what life is all about...
Amen.
ReplyDeleteLet bygones be bygones, look forward. Happy new year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteLet the past be your guidance and not your burden. :D
ReplyDeleteMany of us cannot move forward because we can't get rid of the past. Perhaps this Maria Robinson quote is appropriate, "Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but everyone can start today and make a new ending."
ReplyDeleteWishing you and family Happy New year 2011!
ReplyDeleteYo yo yo .. Happy New Year Eugene !! :)

ReplyDeleteThe blame game is a dumb game. No matter how much he blames himself that will not bring back his mother. Know its a hard blow for him. Sorry unable to help much here and hoping time will heal though it has been quite a while already.
