I feel for you,,,,, my friend.

As a parent, what could be torturing than having our children fallen sick and warded in hospital.......what can be even more tormenting to feel so hopeless when the doctors are telling they don't ever know what caused the illness...... so the story goes.

Received a call from a very dear of mine ( My tennis buddy cum swimming partner) telling me that his daughter had been admitted into hospital after collapsing while doing homework and when he told me that the doctors implied that the daughter could be suffering a stroke due to the belief of stroke mimics, over the other end of line, i was feeling so sad when he imparted the news to me.

How could this be ? an active and cheerful girl of 16 years old suddenly having her limb numb and could not really walk, tears began to slowly rush from my eyes, i could sense and feel for my dear friend as if the whole world had just fallen on him and his wife who was now had to go to work rush from work and stay with the daughter over night and in the morning rushing back to work.....ain't it painful.

Went to see the girl in the hospital, my dear friend told me that several tests had been done on the girl, still nothing conclusive had come out of it, they only spotted two "black dots" at the back of the brand and somewhere on the neckrespectively from the scanning.

The neuro surgeon suggested that more tests were to be carried out and advised my friend that the girl should be transfer to General Hospital where they have a full time neuro specialist.

I kept calling my dear friend for updates, the last i heard that she was ok to walk a few steps and i can only pray for her speedy recovery.

In retrospect, i just believe that nothing can be more important than family and enjoy every minute possible to be with them before it is all too late and i thank God for keeping my family safe and that's the promise i can claim from my dear Lord.

Note : To you my dear friend Richard,,, be strong

P/S : If we knew what tomorrow would bring, i bet we would not be doing what we do today.

  6. I am at work now, I still remember I get mad with my children over the weekend. I could only spend more time with them on the weekend, but end up, they always got a good scolding from me. Your post about your friend make me want to go back to my children now.

  7. Huh? Can't believe of what I just read. 16 years old has implications of a stroke?

Really scary nowdays, all sorts of sudden unexpectedly diseases appearing.

Richard, be strong. Everything happens for a reason, may the Lord brings comfort and healing to you and your family.
