Time is closing in for the Big Day, actually not my Big Day but a wedding day for my eldest sister, which is to be held this Saturday 10th of April 2010............. It will not be a big scale wedding reception, about 50 guests comprises family members and good friends from both sides.
I was suggesting to the bride and the groom, that we shall forgo the normalcy of typical wedding thingy, such as karaoke and whatnot, and as the wedding shall be held by the sea front in one of the F & B outlets of Hard Rock Hotel that we just do it in a leisure, relax yet meaningful gathering of friends, they bought my idea.
I even offered myself to be the MC for the evening, they accepted it for i believe they know i can play up my antics to liven up the evening and for me this is something at least i could do for my wonderful sister on her very special day.
Guys, i need your help to share with me any ideas that could spice up the evening, if there are some programmes that you'd enjoyed from the wedding dinners that you'd once attended, please share with me, ya.
Looking forward to your suggestion.........Thank You.
P/S : Bringing Joy to Others is the Nicest Thing to Do.......(Amen)
Sorry, I've no good advice. But I totally agree that karaoke is not included for the evening.
ReplyDeleteHow about a surprise video presentation, probably greetings and wishes from her friends and loved ones, or something funny and touching like a video sketch.
ohhh call Jeniffer Lopez the wedding planner hahaaah sorry dude...have no idea at all....
ReplyDeleteIt's lame, but if the bridegroom could sing a love song for his pretty bride I think it would spice up the night! Especially if the song he composed or the lyric written on his own, while strumming a guitar with his "amateur" skill...
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps a "coffee talk" between bride and bridegroom about how they met up, their dates and anything hilarious would like to share...(ofcourse all these need you to sparkle it up with your marvellous jokes!)
Have a nice day!
all the best to u, Eugene.. if u r good, next time i "hire" u for my kids' weddings!! don't charge so high, sudah! :)
ReplyDeleteClaire,, you bet i am good............
ReplyDeleteAll the best bro! will come back on Monday to read the 'post' event ya.. :D
ReplyDeleteya a surpise song from the groom to the bride would be nice :). The First dance by the lovely couple.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I last attended a wedding function.. so... sorry dude.. nothing new to share ..
ReplyDeleteerr..Im quite anti-social.. dun think can offer u any advice.hahah.. Just try not to disturb the couple too much and embarassed them, especially those who are shy.
ReplyDeleteTip! Invite me over to Penang to sing at the wedding! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeletedancing? someone play piano while you guy eating? music chair?
ReplyDeletemaybe you can refer to my best friend wedding movie too :)
My daugther April is celebrating her 6 year old bithday on 10 April as well. Just that I do not have a MC for her. Anyway, we celebrate and enjoy together from different place of Malaysia.
ReplyDeletewah good luck. haha i was asked to be the english mc on my frens wedding when I was there to attend the wedding dinner. realy no preparation at all. i end up gotto translate those nin sang kwai chi, pak nin howe hup ..
ReplyDeleteattended my best fren beach wedding that day. the night was filled with:
the wedding reception, wedding vows, the groom's speech, the bride's speech, the video presentation of pre wed shot and some of the pics they took before they got married, then the mc interviewed the parents and some best friends. the cake cutting ceremony and booogey!
OH, if the outlet has got some extra space for an impromptu dancing; that'll be nice. Play some oldies and rally the younger ones to get/force the yee mar ah pak ku cheh onto the dancefloor to jive, and proceed to increase the tempo to some oldies rock. Everyone will love it! ;)
ReplyDeletea lovely wedding slideshow of how they both met, some games (i know it's not common, but i had it for my wedding!), singing a song together etc :)
ReplyDeletethanks for popping in today...i got no clue. i took care of the one wedding i need to, well my wife did, i was there though. smiles.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your sis wedding. Perhaps, you could serenade a song to both of the newly brides?
ReplyDeleteThat will leave tears in their eyes, I'm sure.
good luck man.... i thk wedding shud keep it simple and sweet... perhaps entice everyone for a dance and the rest will follow suite.
ReplyDeleteI once attended a cheeky wedding, where the DJ called up the bride to lie down on a table, pour peanuts all over her, asked the groom to pick nuts from his bride's body. It got interesting when it came to cleavage part. The whole party roared hard. But with a condition, only if you know your crowd or else you might offend the guests.
ReplyDeleteOr ready 3 blown balons with naughty punishment in it like
1.french kiss your partner(seriously)
2.tickle your partner
3.lick your partner's earlobe
#having that you can ask bride & groom any question, failing to answer correctly they get to pick their punishment and enjoy!
I'll be waiting for your event post. Enjoy the party!
Sorry... I also dono. =( I didn't even have a wedding ceremony myself. just register. No idea... =(
