I could'nt believe what i saw..........

Sorry i cant wait to Monday to update my blog, because there is something that i really have to throw out here.

I was having a night out two days ago,( it was Friday lah) with my lovely wife,as we were halfway binging away, i saw something that was really disturbing as far as i am concerned , i could not believe what i saw. So the Story goes.

We were happily binging and chatting away in the al fresco type of dining outlet and i saw a charming little girl (she must 2 or 3 years ago) running about in vicinity of all these al frescos, and this little girl who was closely tailed and monitored by a maid (nationality withheld, up to your guesses)

Then me and my lovely wife were talking nonsense,(that's what we do when we drink) suddenly we started talking about this maid that was playing "catch up" with the little girl, while the parents were dining and merry making away with i guess their other family members. I told my wife, i could not ever imagine myself having a maid, and let the maid go about catching my child around, while i was happily dinning away.If for a short while, that i think is ok, but what i saw was not a short while, it was from the beginning of the meal till the end of it.

What really disguted more, was not the maid running about, playing catching with the little girl, it was another scene that almost made me fell off my seat. Towards the end of the dinner, the maid was called by her employer over to the table and she handed over the girl to her mother and the maid was asked to sit down, and at this juncture the real scene unfolded.

The maid was asked to eat, guess what? Not a newly ordered food coming fresh from the oven, but from the leftovers from the rest of the diners, where a few of them passed over the left-overs to the maid on her plate, and i heard (yes i was eavesdropping) from a distant." Eat, the foods still can be eaten," OK, i shall stop here, I am becoming nauseated already at this point.

P/S : The real difference between a man with the others is i guess RESPECT

  5. yerr..that is so gross..
i had maid (apparently not mine, but my parents la), we actually treated the maid as a part of our family loh, now she is married with 2 children, no longer working with us now, but i will visit her whenever i go back home.

when she was working with us, she didn't want to eat together with us wor =.=", so she would take her part up first, and we ate the "left over". HAHAHAHAHA..

haih.. maid also human ok, those ppl shouldn't treat them like that loh.. what a disgrace.

  8. Eugene, it's quite common, I've seen them giving leftover food for maids in the restaurants, even tho these are the very people who take good care of their kids.

Btw my new blog is up and running :)

  9. these are reasons maids put urine to boil soup for their employers. Im sure there's such thing as cause n effect or reap and harvest.

  10. Wouldn't it be funny if the maid has to do some cooking for them at home? I mean, if you were the maid, and you were treated in such an appaling way, wat would you do whn you prepare food for those people...hhmmmmm....
That is why I have always keep to the principal of never piss a chef or a waiter/waitress or (hopefully)in this case a maid, because they handle your food!
And...it is also appaling to have children and have someone else look after your children for you! Again, maybe that's why the old folks homes are getting more and more popular nowadays!

  11. well, everyone has their own policy with maids, mine is no exception. I don't let my maid eat with us, she has her own dining table and food. My aunts maid eats with them and she complains to me the maid takes the best part of the chicken and eats without consideration for other members of the family who hasn't eaten yet. So, some maids knows courtesy, some don't. Best to set the rules right from start. I do give my maid leftover food for her next day lunch. is that BAD ? I dont' see anything wrong, why waste food, when I'll eat the leftovers myself too. We use a separate fork n spoon for dishes so there'll be no contamination.

  12. Well.. that crass mentality will not get them very far as a family. What goes around comes around. I treat my dog better than that.

  13. I have no comment on the said situation, because my blasted MIL gives everyone leftovers to eat. I am no better than a maid.

But I can imagine myself having a maid.LOL...*sigh* I need some time off from my brat! Soooo tired of taking care of him! Grrrr....

  14. ohhh your story is so typical in our msian setting...i can never have maid, i really dont have the heart...and whenever i see them in restaurants, i feel so bad for them bcs of what you saw, terrible2 people, and of course there are those good ones, but still there is a line...i cannot decide, how well should you treat your maid..so that you maintain authority and be kind at the same time..

  15. So..that is why..cant blame those maids who run away or beat up the kids..or ..or.. anything to get back at the employers.. sigh...

  19. That was an absolutely disgusting and stupid display of how humans can ill-treat other humans.

Is that the way you want to be treating the person who's taking care of your beloved child?!?

  20. When we eat at a restaurant, my maid relax and enjoy her fresh food while I try to eat and feed the kids at the same time because that is MY job. If you allow your maid to take care of your kids that closely instead of yourself to the extend of not eating and playing with them (I am sure all children will love it if you don't eat and play with them instead!), than you can't complain later that your children are getting more attached to your maid than you, can you?!

  21. Sad to say, I always see maids running after their employers' kids when I go out and eat too, the employer and family will be happily eating and chatting away...

I find it totally disgusting too, what's the point of having a child when u can't look after them yourself!
