Friday and My story ended.............

I remember everything stood still in the pub, when i heard what she had to say about it was archaic and outdated for a woman not daring to express herself. Standing there with here alone in the pub, i was really loss for words and i could still recall there were still 4 bottles of beers after the second order was made.


I paused and and as i was trying to change subject, she was quick enough in reminding to give her the answer to her question, i was cloistered by her wittiness, to be frank i was weakened by the whole scenario. At that time i knew how it was like to be in the situation akin to the saying "the mind is willing and the flesh is weak".

My phone rang and it was from my lovely wife, i knew my rescue was insight and the escape was nigh, quickly i said i needed to go home so i sent her home. When i dropped her, she gave me a kiss on the cheek, there was none returned from my part..................


I remember on the same night, i could not sleep, being man(what an excuse) i thought i should have taken the bait but being not so man( that i always will be) the risk was too high.


So as the new day dawned, i went about doing the routine, but there was something missing, there was no call from Sam(that's her name), there was no Sam asking me how my day had been. Everything seemed to have changed, i thought. You knew at that time, i really yearned that Sam would call, that Sam would agree to lunch with me like used to, that Sam would be nice to me like before, that Sam would shower me with the concerns like she was good at................


So for about 2 weeks time, there was really no call from Sam, so finally i drummed up my courage to call her, and the responses were always so identical " Call you back" which she never did, " I am busy" or " I am in discussion"

From the time she kissed me on the cheek, and from the time i kept calling her and from the time she kept giving me excuses, nothing seemed right. Suddenly she assisgned somebody to deal with me business wise instead of her, and it was like no way to get in touch with her and i never did bother to know why i lost a friend
