She's just 18..........................................

I really feel compelled to share this..............may be it will help us to look at things differently or may be it will alert us that might just happen to our 15.16,17 or 18 years old boys and girls.

I was having some drinks with a couple of husband and wife last night and as we chatted along, the wife was sharing with me how stressed their daughter was going through as far as exams and school are concerned.

She said, her daughter would not be able to sleep, she cried when she was not able to "absorb" all that she had studied and she would not even want to come out for meals and other telling signs of "depression"

My friend said he did not know what to do to "pacify" his daughter, he said he had told his daughter umpteen   times that it would be all right even she did not do well but he said it was to no avail telling her that.

Seriously I just wonder, as a parent,do we really believe that our teen boys and girls would somewhere somehow be tossed into "depression" when it comes to exams and schooling ?

May be just like my friend, speaking from our perspective,it is absolutely all right for them to "chill" when it comes to exams but do we really "examine" why are they really feel "stressed"?

For an example,my friend (who is rich) has assured his daughter that if she could not get into local "U", he would have no problem of sending her overseas to further her studies but his daughter is still "depressed" even with that "assurance"

P/S : We need to teach our young about LIFE...............that ups and downs is part and parcel of it

  1. ya.. I guess the young ones can't accept the 'down' part, and not so much of whether if the parents can afford or not..

  2. Kids now are really stressed and putting too much pressures on themselves. Luckily this girl has family supports and understanding.
